Quantitative Associate, Research

Position DescriptionThis contract position will lead to permanent employment as Research Associate in our Equity Research department. We require a high caliber individual with a strong understanding of both quantitative and fundamental analysis. The job holder will have the opportunity to conduc research and analysis to develop investment strategies combining  fundamental and quants approaches.  Such projects will include assisting with the building and servicing of financial models, analysis of data and the production of the research product. He/she may be assigned to various industry research teams on a rotational basis and will be involved in daily activities of the equity research department under the supervision of the Senior Research Analysts.Key Areas of Responsibilities

• Support research and analysis on companies, industries and markets combining quantitative and fundamental approaches
• Support preparation of market reports and presentation materials
• Retrieve and analyse information from databases, external data (e.g. Bloomberg, CEIC, WIND, etc), industry sources
• Support and maintain models and databases using financial technology, alternative data, AI and ML
• Help track and analyse news relating to financial markets across asset classes

Requirements

• Bachelor degree required, preferably in business related or quantitative discipline
• 1-2 years’ work experience in investment management/advisory firms; experience in a large accountancy firm will also be considered
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills- programming, data analysis and financial modelling
• Ability to multi task, prioritise and operate in a fast moving, challenging environment
• High sense of commercial awareness
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English
