“Find your role”
As a Quality Technologist, your role is to drive Own Brand food and drink product quality with the objective to increase Asda's quality perception with customers. You will be accountable for ensuring that Asda products in your departments always meet the required quality specification, by driving a culture of quality within your supply base and within Asda to deliver our Quality Framework.
- Head office test kitchen based you will make judgements on product suitability against contracted specifications
- Support our suppliers to deliver great value products to our customers everyday
- Champion Asda’s standards within the business and with suppliers so all of our products meet or exceed customer expectations
- Take the lead on customer quality dissatisfaction, leveraging the power of internal stakeholders and suppliers to bring about meaningful and sustainable change
- Lead and own investigations into product quality fails, customer quality complaints and online reviews as examples of key metrics requiring skills in root cause analysis, stakeholder engagement and the ability to manage a large number of finished product suppliers
- Take a leading role in assessing product quality after product launches– so we all deliver right first time for customers
- Maintain a strong grip on key customer quality KPIs that you robustly deliver within your accountable areas
- Supplier and product management is key in this role resolving issues at pace with effective agreed plans locked down and evidenced to ensure no repeat for our customers

- A passion and knowledge of food
- Degree or equivalent experience in relevant product or scientific area
- Ability to interpret data and represent data to present
- Strong communication skills, ability to influence/ cascade information to the wider business/Suppliers
- An understanding of technical and manufacturing processes in order to hold suppliers/manufacturers to account supplying our retail products
- Commercially & customer aware
- Experience within a retail/manufacturing environment
- Experience in process technology and/or improvement and/or Product development and/or product sensory assessment
- Overseeing category quality or overseeing quality or technical output of a wide/ large number of suppliers is a key area of focus
- Be able to build strong sustainable and mutually beneficial relationships with Manufacturers / Suppliers
- Ability to prioritise and flex to business needs
