Job Description
Candidates are invited to apply for a temporary full-time position of Quality Risk Management Coordinator (QRMC) for Extendicare Coordinator.
Reporting to the Administrator the QRMC will operate as the driver of quality improvement within the home, by collaborating with local and regional teams. The successful candidate will operate as part of the interdisciplinary team in accordance with Extendicare’s policies, practices and current legislation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee quality initiatives across the home with a focus on indicators
- Develop solutions to existing quality improvement barriers
- Provide local and regional oversight for an assigned quality initiative
- Track and trend quality performance
- Attend and participate in local quality related committee meetings
- Lead/chair a quality improvement committee within the home
- Provide frontline presence in the Resident Communities to support, evaluate, and better understand quality and barriers to quality
- Use project management skills to lead teams towards common goals
- Identify gaps in training and education that impact quality
- Report findings to other members of the management team
- Attend management meetings
- Participate in performance appraisals
- Participate in labour management discussions and performance management of staff
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have knowledge and/or a strong desire to learn about quality improvement within Long Term Care (LTC)
- Must be passionate about geriatrics
- LTC experience preferred
- Project management is an asset
- Must be a team player
- 2 years of leadership experience (preferred)
- Must demonstrate and possess exceptional customer service skills
- Familiarity and understanding of electronic health record systems i.e. PCC, RAI/MDS, RUGS, E-MAR, POC tablets is considered an asset
- Knowledge of LTC industry regulatory requirements and current Best Practices is considered an asset
- Strong leadership, organizational, interpersonal skills, ability to coach and work effectively with others and an ability to effect change
- Understanding of Quality Indicators/willingness to learn
- Ability to work independently and be self-directed
- Ability to facilitate others with problem solving processes
- Excellent written and oral communication
