Pay Range

$101,500.00-$139,600.00 Annual

This is the base salary pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire.   Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors. In addition, this position is eligible for an incentive bonus. 

The purpose of the Quality Manager role is to directly oversee quality standards and monitor, maintain and evolve plant quality processes procedures systems for a manufacturing facility. The Quality Manager will be responsible for management, development, implementation and maintenance of product quality to support continuous improvement initiatives and plant productivity.

Your Day to Day:

  • Manage, set direction and delegate daily work of assigned Quality personnel in the maintenance and support of plant quality initiatives and programs
  • Oversee, maintain and audit plant quality systems to maintain the plants ISO certification
  • Standardize operating procedures and processes, and facilitate and document QA training for employees
  • Develop and manage plant Quality Management Systems and ensure compliance
  • Plan and schedule work to utilize labor, and lab equipment to maintain quality plant assessments
  • Work with customers suppliers to resolve complaints and or fitness for use issues by leading problem-solving efforts with the use of data analysis, statistical analysis, scientific method and other tools
  • Lead projects in continuous improvement process to increase product quality and reduce manufacturing costs
  • Identify and improve key plant quality metrics to include customer service-related metrics and product quality metrics
  • Develop and generate quality reports as requested by the leadership team
  • Demonstrate and drive plant safety initiatives
  • Maintain and enforce good housekeeping in Quality areas
  • May be required to perform other related duties as assigned

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years direct quality or process control experience in a manufacturing environment. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
  • 3 years’ experience in a leadership or managerial role preferred
  • Experience and knowledge of ISO requirements, certification, and auditing
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodology such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, etc.
  • Ability to teach and train on Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing tools and methodologies.
  • Proven experience in improving quality systems
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Proficient in root cause analysis, scientific method, and statistical data analysis
  • Demonstrated problem resolution skills
  • Strong technical ability to drive process improvement
  • Solid organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to understand blueprints, machining symbols and geometric dimensions
  • Ability to work directly with customers and suppliers
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Manages a staff of 35 hourly union employees and 1 salary employee, sets direction and deploys resources. Responsible for performance evaluations, pay reviews, hiring, and terminating.
  • Minimal travel required 0 – 10 days per year .
  • Work environment is typical of a manufacturing facility may be exposed to environmental conditions of cold, heat, high noise levels, moving mechanical parts, heights, dust mist gas fumes, extensive walking or climbing, etc. .
