Printpack, a leading manufacturer of flexible packaging products, is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Quality Manager to support their VR1 facility located in Villa Rica, Georgia. This position will report to the Quality Director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
-
5+ years of quality experience in manufacturing
-
4-year college degree or equivalent experience
-
Experience with ISO 9001 Quality System administration
-
Experience with Food Safety and certifications
-
Demonstrated success leading, providing clear directions, and influencing others
-
Ability to write, present, and communicate with clarity and precision with internal stakeholders, customers, and suppliers
-
Consistent and strong ability to plan, organize, and manage time across multiple tasks while working individually and on teams
-
Training or experience in statistical quality control methods and lean manufacturing
-
Demonstrated advanced skills in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Physical Demands: Ability to stand for significant periods of time and to move throughout the plant (this includes steps and ladders) to complete work machine side, in the lab, and warehouse.
Travel Requirements: Up to 25%
QUALITY MANAGEMENT
-
Oversee daily QC Lab activities.

Maintain quality test equipment, including maintenance and calibration and associated procedures.

Train technicians to recognize critical defects and perform quality checks.

Implement control charts and other quality test procedures to ensure product performance to the customer.

Improve existing quality test methods and work with Printpack Analytical Services and Product Development to develop new methods when needed.

Maintain Printpack specifications and complete necessary updates.

Interact with manufacturing associates to ensure quality procedures are clear and understood and assist production management in ensuring that quality procedures are followed.

Serve as Plant Management Representative for ISO 9001 and ISO 22000 Management Systems and internal audit team member.

Facilitate preparation and completion of customer and Quality Management System external audits and responses to any findings.
COLLABORATION AND SUPPORT
- Provide hands-on assistance during the transition of new products to manufacturing to ensure quality standards are met.
- Work with Product Development to develop functional product specifications prior to new product commercialization by conducting capability studies on both new and existing products.
- Support continuous improvement efforts and implementation of the Printpack Performance System.
CUSTOMER AND SUPPLIER INTERACTION
- Interact with customers and visit as necessary to build relationships and to understand and resolve quality issues.
- Oversee the customer complaint system, investigate complaints, and provide feedback to customers.
- Maintain customer scorecards.
- Interact with internal and external raw material suppliers and manage the plant’s supplier claims.
PEOPLE LEADERSHIP

Lead and motivate the quality team in a manner that promotes continuous improvement, associate engagement, and a dedication to safe working conditions and behaviors.

Serve as a member of the Plant Leadership Team (PLT) and advocate that quality is not to be compromised.
