Job Responsibilities:
As a Quality Engineer, you will report to the Senior Quality Engineer. This role is responsible for leading and supporting all quality aspects impacting, sustaining and improving the plant performance.
Your Responsibilities
- Analyse quality data to identify root causes of issues, opportunities for improvement and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor quality performance through SPC and Cpk analysis.
- Ensuring key performance indicators (KPIs) are achieved.
- Lead/involvement in analysis and problem-solving activities (8D, 6-Sigma, etc.)
- Lead Process audit and support LPA, 5S and system audit.
- Support creation and submission of PPAP, Process flow, Control Plan, PFMEA, MSA, Capability studiers.
- Lead/involvement in continuous improvement activities for plant (quality, lean, scrap, etc.)
- Validating processes change and ensure documentation is up to date.
- Support quality management and site management objectives and tasks.
- Support quality management and site management reporting requirements.
- Contribute towards the development and delivery of department and individual objectives to maintain/improve department and business performance.
- Support site development and sustainment of QMS in line with standards and customer specific requirements.
- Provide regular feedback through various mechanisms (daily, weekly and monthly reviews)
Who we are looking for:
Essential
- Previous experience of leading and coaching teams
- Excellent organization skills and management of priorities
- Understanding of 7W / lean improvement
- Experienced in problem solving leadership with strong analytical skills
- Understanding of build standard creation (PFMEA, control plan, working level documents) and implementation / improvement of quality control systems
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to present to all levels of internal and external customers.
- Understanding of measurement methods / methodology
- PC literacy, including a working knowledge of reporting software, e.g. Microsoft Office
- Resilient, self-driven and positive approach
- Prepared to work within remit and across functions/levels as required
- Systematic and logical approach
- Flexibility
Desirable
- Qualified to HNC level or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline
- Experience of working within the automotive sector
- 6-Sigma trained or trained in other problem solving methodologies (quality tools required)
- QMS and quality systems / auditing experience
- Experienced in IATF:16949 and core tools (APQP, FMEA, SPC, MSA and PPAP)
- Knowledge of Minitab
