Job Responsibilities:
The Quality Engineer is responsible for the development and maintenance of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), and Quality Management System (QMS) documentation. They identify relevant statistical methods to determine quality improvement parameters for manufacturing processes and establish statistical confidence by determining sample sizes, acceptable error, and confidence levels. They also ensure statistical reliability using techniques such as mean time before failure, Weibull 3-parameter distribution, reliability modeling, and reliability demonstration tests.
The Quality Engineer leads cross-functional teams to develop Corrective and Preventive Actions for customers, suppliers, and production. They create and maintain quality process inspection instructions, reports, and quality alerts, and participate in the preparation and maintenance of these documents. Additionally, they contribute to continual improvement efforts, including lean manufacturing, process error proofing, CPK improvement, problem-solving, and timely reaction to concerns. They also assist in the design, development, and approval of checking aids and fixtures.
Education and Experience:
• Associates Degree Required, Bachelor degree in technical field preferred or equivalent experience
• At least 5 years' experience in a Quality Technician/Inspection or equivalent position that directly relates to meet the qualifications for role.
• Knowledge of Quality processes, policies, and procedures.
• Advanced Knowledge of customer and Quality Management System standard requirements.
