Job Description

Provide support to all departments and areas regarding quality issues. Perform quality assurance and quality control duties to assure that all production parts meet established quality criteria.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in establishing, maintaining and refining quality systems and programs.
  • Design, implement and refine quality control process sampling systems, procedures and statistical techniques.
  • Formulate or assist in formulating quality policies and procedures.
  • Analyze process capability and recommend revision to standards, specifications and or process when warranted.
  • Create and manage Control Plans and PPAP activities
  • Experience in Corrective Action, 8D and 5Y.
  • Design or specify inspection mechanisms and equipment.
  • Evaluate, plan and initiate actions to effect improvements on factors affecting quality costs.
  • Evaluate and report on customer complaints and returned product.
  • Interface with suppliers, customers and internal departments on resolution of quality issues.
  • Ability to act as a back up to the Sr. Quality Engineer

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 3 years Quality Assurance experience required.
  • 3-5 years in a decision making technical, professional or management position
  • Knowledge of and experience with comprehensive Quality Assurance requirements such as ISO 9001, QS9000 or MIL-Q-9858.
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office and Minitab strongly preferred) 
  • Knowledge of and experience with Six-Sigma tools desired.
  • ASQ Certification preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and analytical skills.
  • Able to work as a team member with a wide variety of people.
