Role Overview

Teledyne Microwave UK are looking for a key individual to join the business as a Quality Engineer based at our site in Firth Road, Lincoln.

The Quality Engineer role is hands on to support all business aspects, including Manufacturing and Procurement, to drive improvement and efficiency. The Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that issues are dealt with in an effective manner, and appropriate Root Cause and Corrective Action is applied.

What you’ll be involved in:

  • Support Inspection for both Incoming and Outgoing components to ensure that quality standards are maintained.

  • Completion of FAIR’s for both Incoming and Outgoing Components.

  • Non-Conformance Management and Improvement Activity.

  • Vendor Audits and Improvement Activity for existing and potential new Vendors.

  • Performing Internal Audits in order to ensure that business processes are effective.

  • Lead Problem Solving activity on site by use of 8D or similar.

  • Maintain and develop the QMS and associated processes.

  • Further develop and implement both existing and new Inspection Standards.

  • Create quality system tools and references to support a 'right first time' quality culture.

  • Report key performance measures, performance levels and trends for all aspects of the quality management system.

  • Support Audit activity for both Customer and annual ISO9001 audits.

What we’re looking for in you:

  • Higher technical education, ie HNC or above.

  • Quality related work experience in a manufacturing company, ideally electronics but not essential.

  • Experienced in Internal Audits.

  • Strong analytical skills to identify the source of problems.

  • Good MS Office skills, experience in SAP is beneficial.

  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001.

  • Good communication skills and ability to liaise effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.

The successful candidate must be able to obtain UK SC Clearance once in the business.
