A Quality Engineer 2 has primary responsibility for development and maintenance of production quality standards and documentation. Independently cultivates continuous improvement (CI) through problem prevention and mitigation, leads corrective actions through data analysis trending, and supports External Audits and the Internal Audit program. Manages specific customers/ and serves as the Quality Representative within an assigned Customer Focus Team or designated functional area. This includes but is not limited to defining quality requirements for new products and preparing/maintaining necessary documentation, monitors production quality performance to identify opportunities for improvement, complete, review and maintain quality records for compliance to Creation’s Quality Management System (QMS), as well as key contact for customer and regulatory compliance requirements. Participates in and performs quality audits (product, process, system, or supplier).

DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Participates in and performs quality audits (product, process, system, or supplier)
  • Manages specific customers/Serves as the Quality Representative within an assigned Customer Focus Team or designated functional area
  • Effectively presents information to top management, public group and/or customers
  • Interprets assembly prints and drawings
  • Solves practical problems and makes logical decisions.
  • Facilitates root cause analysis and timely and effective resolution of Corrective Action/Preventive Action (CAPA)
  • Defines problems, collects data, establishes facts, and draws valid conclusions
  • Independently solves moderate issues using root-cause analysis tools (e.g., 8D)
  • Interacts with other Engineers, Technicians and Production Team Members and external partners to collaborate on solutions and to execute on quality processes and standards to consistently meet the goals of customers and the organization
  • Facilitates internal Quality and customer meetings
  • Collaborates across departments, including Engineering and Operations

QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor's Degree in Quality or Engineering or equivalent industry and/or military experience. • Minimum of 3-7 years experience in Quality or related Engineering roles • Electronics manufacturing service or related industry experience is required. • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt/American Society of Quality (ASQ) certification preferred.Skills Required: • Intermediate understanding of Microsoft (MS) Office suite, Minitab, or equivalent software.• Experience working in quality for an organization certified to ISO standards (13485 and 9001) required.• Working knowledge and understanding of Lean and Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies and quality tools (i.e. Pareto Chart, Histogram, SPC, Flowchart, etc.).• Working knowledge of PFMEA, Control Plans, Measurement System Analysis, APQP and PPAP.• Above average English communications skills (verbal and written)WORKING ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS Physical and/or Mental Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel office equipment, objects, tools, or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and identification, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential and non-essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Working Conditions The working environment is generally clean; however, this position may be exposed to occasional dust, metals/solder occasional exposure to high noise levels from operating machines or physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts. The employee must wear designated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and/or electrostatic dissipative protection where required. Otherwise, office/business casual attire, consistent with site specific safety guidelines is appropriate.

Must successfully complete a criminal history background check and drug screening test.

 

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the anticipated salary for this position is between $85k - $95k per year. Full-time employees are also eligible for performance-based bonuses and benefits. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as a final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, education, location and shift.
