Purpose and Scope:
The Quality Control Evaluator performs a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment's storage plan. Note: Exclude workers whose primary duties involve shipping and receiving work (see Shipping/Receiving Clerk), order filling (see Order Filler), or operating forklifts (see Forklift Operator). Works under the supervision of a designated Lead, Supervisor or Manager. Must have or be able to obtain license to use MHE within 30 days of selection. Candidate will attend Transportation of Hazardous Materials to become certified to ship hazardous material. Performs range of duties within the classified department, ensures items being received, stowed or shipped meet the requirements of MIL STD 129N. Receives daily work from Lead or Supervisor.
Essential Responsibilities:
1) Performs a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment's storage plan.
2) Rearrange and take inventory of stored materials, examines stored materials and reports deterioration and damage.
3) Removes material from storage and prepares it for shipment.
4) May operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties.
5) Verify materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents, notes and reports discrepancies and obvious damages.
6) Route materials to prescribed storage locations.
7) Stores, stacks or palletizes material in accordance with prescribed storage methods.
8)Maintain QC files and addresses nonconforming finding with management and performs follow-up surveillance after corrective actions have been implemented to assess the effectiveness of the corrective actions.
9) Uses WMS and other Government Data Systems in the performance of quality control duties.
10) Independently inspects all phases of a variety of distributions processes for conformity to established quality and other operational standards by performing on=going work for compliance with contractual provisions
11) Operates under established QC surveillance schedule, selects surveillance and summarizes surveillance results on quality control surveillance reports and annotates whether services are conforming or nonconforming.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be a United States citizen.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must have High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
- Must have a minimum of three months in material handling, supply distribution, inspection, quality assurance, or related processes.
- Must be able to use the DSS and other automated distributions systems.
- Must be able to follow requirements of MIL-STD 129 or DLA Manuals and other directives as required.
- Must be licensed and experienced in the use of the MHE within 30 days of selection.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
• Must be able to type using a standard keyboard to communicate through e-mail and software applications. • Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for extended periods throughout the day. • Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands. • Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders. • Must be able to lift heavy objects whose weight may exceed 50 pounds. • Must be able to pass a Respirator Physical and Fit Test qualification. • Must be able to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, forklift, etc. • Must be able to lift/push/pull minimum of 50 pounds. • May work in warehouse or outside where it is drafty, noisy and dirty. • May be exposed to extreme noise from operating equipment. • May be exposed to electrical shock hazards or work near moving mechanical parts or vehicles. • Will be required to handle dirty parts and lubricants. • Will be required to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). • May be required to travel domestically and internationally on short notice, to austere environments, under harsh living conditions. • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
