Quality Assurance Manager

KBR is looking for a Quality Assurance/Quality Control Manager to work with capital project teams, the QA/QC Manager is accountable to the Project Team Leaders and Site Engineering Manager for ensuring the adherence to quality requirements for capital project implementation, especially with respect to Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements.
This position is located at the DuPont Spruance Site in Richmond, VA where work will be performed full time on site unless traveling. Note that up to 10% travel may be required.
Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Assist capital project teams in generating a clearly defined list of quality requirements to be implemented for each project.

Verify that satisfactory quality requirement data is provided during Front End Loading (FEL) to allow developing the Project Quality Plan (PQP).

Responsible for the development and implementation of Project Quality Plans and Equipment Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), including auditing work processes and deliverables for compliance, and for meeting agreed upon project quality requirements and expectations. This is particularly important for PSM Critical Equipment.

Participate in routine meetings to report on overall quality assurance status to project leadership. Include a concise review of the current status of the QC documentation received vs. expected and support follow-up efforts to address any issues identified during the reviews.

Conduct quality inspections on an as-needed requirement both on-site and at local suppliers per the Project Quality Plan and Equipment Inspection and Test Plans.

Ensure that all required PSM documentation is delivered to the Capital Project Team Leader and the owner of the appropriate Blueprint file, especially for PSM Critical Equipment.

Audit quality control pre-qualification and turnover documentation from vendors and contractors.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

AWS-CWI Certification

Required: >5 years relevant industrial experience in Quality Assurance / Quality Control functions·

Functional Skills - Deep understanding of capital project quality assurance and quality control.

Organizational skills - Having and using the knowledge of our organization’s systems, procedures, and culture to effectively get work done to advance capital project quality.

Communications skills - Skill in communicating effectively (both orally and in writing) as appropriate for the needs of the audience (ranging from business leaders to construction craftspeople). Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure.

Candidate must be able to walk the site, climb stairs and on occasion wear fall protection equipment to ascend a scaffold for inspection

Perform audits / inspections at vendor and contractor fabrication shops
