The Program
Mallinckrodt is offering an 11-week internship program, which provides an immersive experience in the world of pharmaceuticals. As an MNK Intern, you will have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful and impactful work that compliments the degree you are pursuing. Here, you will be able to apply what you’ve learned in the classroom to a corporate environment. In addition, our internship program is designed to include networking opportunities across the company, professional development workshops, and community service.

Job Description
The Quality Assurance Intern will define, document, assess, and scrutinize the business processes of the organization of the Quality department and then identify areas for potential improvement. Their focus is on streamlining operations or developing solutions that allow for improved efficiency or increased productivity. The intern will also ensure processes are aligned with organization objectives and guidelines. They will meet with stakeholders across the organization to gather research and also interact with outside vendors. They prepare documentation and develop recommendations. They may also design and implement tech-based programs to automate routine processes.
The incumbent typically has at least a bachelor’s degree, and a background that involves analyzing and improving business processes. Good analytical skills and project management capabilities are required.
- Identify and analyze business needs, conduct requirements gather, and define scope and objectives.
- Learn, use and support various financial products, software and systems with ease.
- Ensure support documents are created and distributed/posted in timely manner.
- Analyze, test, and evaluate raw materials, in-process products, and final products.
- Perform data gathering, root cause analysis and performance trending in order to develop appropriate process changes.
- Develop gap analysis with leaders and identify improvement opportunities and initiatives.
- Review solution designs with the Quality teams to ensure they meet requirements, are scalable and high quality.
- Manage and execute user acceptance test effort, data, and cases, and identify pertinent performance metrics.
- Create impact assessments and analyze the ROI for system enhancements.
- Identify training gaps and create training opportunities when needed, including guidance on execution of SAP transactions.
- Adhere to practices that improve operational efficiency via expanded communications with key process constituencies.
- Complete other necessary assignments as required including, but not limited to, department support tasks (filing, preparation of documents, etc.), document updates, participation in root cause analysis, and participation in investigations or internal audits.
Minimum Requirements
Education / Experience / Skills:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, related science or equivalent combination of Education, Experience and Competencies.
