Role Overview
The Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for carrying out technical and functional testing services and related consulting activities for Datacom and Datacom clients.
Role Responsibilities
The Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for (but not limited to):
- Ensuring adherence to Quality Assurance standards, best-practices, and methodologies. Working under the supervision of a QA Lead or QA Test Manager on a project.
- Identifying requirements from multiple sources. Analyzing requirements to determine test conditions. Documenting test cases to address the test conditions.
- Executing the test cases, recording the results and any defects in the appropriate tools. Improving and expanding tests as testing proceeds to improve coverage.
- Contributing to risk prioritization discussions and rankings. Applying pragmatism to test design and execution.
- Participating and collaborating with the team in project/programme ceremonies (e.g. sprint planning, stand-ups, retros, reviews, design workshops).
- Providing reasonable test estimates for specific pieces of work.
- Providing accurate information into the reporting / metrics gathering processes. Seeking guidance from senior or specialized associates as needed.
- Always demonstrating professional and service-oriented behaviour.
- Actively participating in organizational and QA team activities.
- Performing work that achieves desired business outcomes and adheres to industry standards and good processes.
- Being an active and collaborative member of the wider Datacom team and organization, taking part in activities as required.
- Providing support to management, managing teams where required and coaching/mentoring to junior roles.
- Contributing ideas, initiatives and process improvement internally and to clients where the opportunity presents.
- Promoting collaboration and learning, fun and team spirit consistent with Datacom culture and brand values to clients, within Datacom and to the Datacom Community of Practice.
- Takes reasonable care that their actions (or inactions) do not harm the Health and Safety of self or others. Reports all incidents, hazards or unsafe work practices as per Datacom policy.
What you'll bring
Qualifications:
- Experienc3+ years of experience in the related industry (software testing/technical or development background).
- Demonstrated experience in testing best practices and methodologies.
- Experienced in creation of Test Related documentation e.g., Test Cases, Scripts, Defects & reporting.
- Experience with Structured Test Management Tools including defect management.
- Experience with Software Testing Methodologies in a full development shop.
Knowledge
- Desirable testing experience of Time Tracking, Time sheeting and leave management applications.
- Knowledge of specialist areas and common toolsets.
- Understanding of the SDLC and supporting test phases and types.
- Knowledge of, adhere and provide advice for QA-Specific Agile and DevOps practices.
- General knowledge of QA practices and processes.
- Ability to provide training and guidance to more junior QA Analysts.
- Ability to apply analysis to design appropriate tests based on the assessed risk level.
- Conversant in the QA activities for the different SDLCs.
