The Quality Assurance team owns the testing process, risk management, and quality evaluation of all products and functions across Epic. Our team works closely with developers and production to ensure the best possible user experience for our community and customers.

What You'll Do

We’re looking for an experienced QA Lead for Fortnite Competitive! The Fortnite Competitive team is responsible for creating a competitive experience through the implementation of tournaments, ranked modes, and much more. In this role you will be guiding quality for seasonal releases, partnering with other discipline leads, and innovating and improving our seasonal quality processes to deliver an epic experience for our players. We are a creative group within a large organization that prizes intelligence, creativity, and nimble problem-solving skills. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter with game QA management experience and a passion for innovating and improving upon the Fortnite Competitive Process.

In this role, you will

  • Assign, supervise, and evaluate the performance of appropriate internal and external resources for the testing, documentation, and research of relevant issues on Fortnite Competitive
  • Collaborate with the development team to analyze qualitative and quantitative game test results, evaluate their importance across a matrix of factors, and action against them in real time
  • Maintain an expert knowledge of the Fortnite Competitive experiences and their tiers of quality
  • Develop and iterate on quality strategies that encompass staffing, technical requirements, product space, and involvement throughout the development lifecycle
  • Audit testing approaches, provide detailed recommendations for improvement, and address tactical gaps
  • Identify risks to the quality of testing in the product, process, and people and then develop and execute on solving those challenges through internal and external resources
  • Evaluate, nurture, and grow the skills and the usage of our Quality Assurance staff (Analysts, Programmers, Testers)

What we're looking for

  • 2+ years of QA management experience in the games industry
  • Experience working on a hybrid in-house/outsourced team in a fast-paced environment
  • Breathtaking time-management and multitasking capabilities
  • Skilled writer of detailed issue documentation and test plans
  • Strong communication skills, ability to advocate
  • Experience using qualitative metrics to measure types of fun
  • Expert user of issue tracking tools such as JIRA
  • Selfless collaborator and inspirational leader of small teams on short deadlines

This role is open to multiple locations in North America (excluding CA, NY, & WA).
