Job Description
We are looking for a skilled Software Developer Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll play a crucial part in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software and AI solutions. Reporting to the Technology Manager QA SW/AI, you'll be the primary person responsible for developing a robust and scalable test infrastructure in Python, utlising Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD) and PyTest frameworks. The role involves end-to-end testing of optical sorters, integrating various components such as optical sensors, embedded hardware, and a distributed software system. The software stack to be tested is primarily written in .NET (C#, F#, Blazor/WPF) and C++.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and execute a robust test framework to run automated test cases for end-to-end testing of the optical sorter.
- Integrate testing across various components, including:
- Optical sensors
- Embedded hardware
- Distributed software systems
- Conduct hands-on exploratory testing at the machine, requiring presence at the office and lab facilities.
- Automate manual testing and continuously improve test processes and infrastructure to enhance efficiency, accuracy.
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of the sorter’s mechanical and optical systems to perform system integration and end-to-end tests.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders, manual testers and software developers to ensure high-quality software releases.
Qualifications
About You:
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Software Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
- Technical Expertise:
- Proven experience in test solution architecture.
- Ability to write production-quality code in Python and other programming/scripting languages as needed.
- Experience in test automation development patterns.
- Expertise in manual testing for web-based and/or desktop applications.
- Familiarity with automation test frameworks and equipment such as BDD framworks (any language), Robot framework (Python) and hardware-in-the-loop systems).
- Solid understanding of LAN and relevant troubleshooting.
- Experience with Git.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Strong communication skills for effective interactions with project stakeholders.
- Ability to present technical content clearly and concisely.
- Comfortable participating in technical meetings for requirement refinement.
- Willingness to perform and participate in constructive code reviews, as both a reviewer and reviewee.
- Work Approach:
- Strong analytical and structure problem-solving skills.
- Hands-on, proactive and engaged in onsite work.
- Willing and able to travel as needed.
