QA Automation Engineer

Job Summary

The QA Engineer will be responsible for maintaining quality assurance standards within Rosterfy. You will be responsible for planning, documenting and executing test cases for all updates to our desktop and mobile applications. You will ensure the quality of the features going into the product are of the high standard and any defects are documented accordingly. The QA will attend all agile ceremonies and should assist the Senior QA’s, Business Analysts and Products Owners with necessary documentation for test cases, requirements gaps, releases notes and any reporting metrics. The role is manual however any exposure to automation/willing to learn automation will be advantageous.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Passion for Testing and Automation: Strong interest in automation with a solid background in testing development and design.
• Expert in TypeScript and JavaScript: Proficient in coding with TypeScript a JavaScript, particularly for creating automation scripts from scratch.
• Playwright Expertise: Extensive experience in using Playwright for automation testing, including building custom frameworks.
• Manual Testing: Solid experience in manual testing, with the willingness to take ownership of the entire QA process, ensuring both automated and manual testing processes are thoroughly managed.
• Automation Framework Development: Ability to build and implement automation frameworks from the ground up.
• Test Automation Tools Knowledge: Experience with testing tools like Selenium, Cypress, Katalon, Appium, or similar automation tools.
• Knowledge of CI/CD and Git: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control using Git, and understanding of automated deployment practices.
• Agile Experience: Comfortable working in an Agile environment, participating in Scrum ceremonies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Attention to Detail & Analytical Mindset: Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to think critically and troubleshoot complex issues.
• Excellent Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical team
• Additional Skills: Experience with PHP will be a plus.
• Test Planning & Execution: Plan tests for features using test management tools,and ensure tests are executed on time while providing testing feedback to theteam.
• Bug Reporting & Retesting: Retest bugs reported by the wider team, report defects, and collaborate with developers to ensure timely resolution

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• At least 5 years relevant experience 
• Strong Automation experience
