The “Pursuit Analyst” position for Northrop Grumman Mission Systems will support new business pursuits, along with strategic development and planning activities aligned to internal customers as part of the Sector Strategic Growth organization. The primary place of work is Linthicum Heights MD with some hybrid work arrangements allowed. This is NOT a remote position.
This is a senior-level position that requires the blend of Technical, Finance, Business Development, Capture, Program Management, Proposal and Team Building skills to be successful. The candidate selected for this position will perform analyses and provide support in the areas of (including, but not limited to, the following):
- Position To Win / Price To Bid
- Market Assessment (sales potential aligned to NG competitive design/offerings)
- Business Case Analysis to justify pursuit of specific markets and capture efforts on specific bids
- Intelligence collection and analysis, including:
- Customer Intelligence (value elements, budgeting/funding and award trends and tendencies)
- Competitor Assessments (corporate profiles, SWOT, bid trends, strategic intent, capacity/capability, investments)
- Compilation and analysis of historical data to forecast future trends and potential disruptive behaviors
- Decomposition of OTAs/RFIs/DRFPs/RFPs to extract competitive elements
- Production of intelligence products and applications, including:
- Customer Analyses and Competitor Blackhats
- Competitor war-gaming, scenario analysis and role-playing
- Preparation and delivery of formal and informal pursuasive presentations to senior level and executive management
- Effective engagement with multi-functional Capture Teams (and support organizations) in an effort to develop competitor win strategies and internal Northrop Grumman counter strategies.
- Plan, develop and deliver training to Missions Systems Sector resources on a variety of Capture-focused topics
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 15 years experience directly related to this position
- Experience with large new business captures (> $50M)
- DoD Industry Knowledge, including the impact of varying contract types and acquisition strategies
- Experience in the aggregation of Secondary Open Source Intelligence
- Extensive experience in using Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint and Excel
- Highly motivated with exceptional communications skills (both oral and written) as well as exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Experience facilitating executive strategy sessions (such as scenario generation exercises and wargames)
- A demonstrated understanding of the use of intelligence and competitive strategy to capture specified contract opportunities
- Experience teaching or coaching others in the collection and use of competitive intelligence
- Demonstrated understanding of analytical approaches for anticipating competitor choices, and of “futures thinking” to anticipate emergent threats and opportunities
- Demonstrated understanding of the techniques of ethical human source information collection, including source assessment, management and debriefing techniques; trade show intelligence methodologies; and interpersonal persuasion
- Must be able to travel up to 10%

Preferred Qualifications:
- Current active clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI level clearance
- 8+ years new business capture experience with DoD acquisitions at various levels and roles.
- Deep understanding and knowledge of domains where NGMS competes
- Knowledge/understanding of multiple financial metrics (Pwin, Pgo, Breakeven, Cash Flow, Internal Rate of Return, Net Present Value, Hurdle Rate)
Salary Range: $143,100.00 - $214,700.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
