The Role
The EGC Group is seeking an agency side Public Relations Manager, who will be responsible for leading client strategies. The ideal candidate will have experience in a wide range of PR functions, as well as have existing, positive relationships with media professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Thought leadership and planning surrounding client strategies and campaigns
- Writes press releases and prepares information for the media to promote clients.
- Responds to requests for interviews and information from the media.
- Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with consumer, community, employee, and public interest groups.
- Plans or directs the development of programs to maintain favorable public and stakeholder views of the organization’s agenda and accomplishments.
- Coaches client reps in effective communication with the public and employees.
- Analyzes the organization’s objectives, promotional policies, and needs to build public relations strategies that influence public opinion and promote products, ideas, services.
- Maintains the organization’s image and identity.
- Drafts speeches and schedules interviews.
- Prepares and edits organizational materials, including employee newsletters and other publications for internal and external audiences.
- Collaborates with clients to identify trends and evaluate advertising to determine whether it is in sync with the organization’s public relation efforts.
- Identify and organize promotional events such as press conferences, conferences and speaking engagements.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in a PR or communications role
- BA in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, English, Marketing or a related field is preferred
- Verbal and written communication excellence, with attention to detail
