The Public Relations Manager will work alongside the communications team on all aspects of public relations for The Points Guy and Lonely Planet. This role will be responsible for driving communications, public relations and marketing strategies for Red Ventures travel brands that support brand mission and impact. The PR Manager will focus on executing media relations, managing press interviews while working closely with company spokespeople and agency partners, and supporting both brands’ overall media presence and narrative through thought leadership, trend stories, social impact initiatives and more. The ideal candidate has an interest and experience in consumer PR, a knack for media relations and a passion for travel.

The PR Manager reports to the Senior Manager of Public Relations and will be based in The Points Guy’s New York City office on a hybrid schedule with Tues-Thurs as our standard in office days.

What You’ll Do: 

  • Execute public relations strategies for The Points Guy and Lonely Planet brands including research and writing, developing pitch angles and calendars, talking points, media alerts and releases that drive brand awareness, engagement and adoption
  • Develop and maintain relationships with media “friendlies” and key journalists, producers and hosts
  • Secure and manage media interviews in collaboration with company spokespeople and agency partners
  • Measure the impact of PR initiatives on a monthly basis, providing regular reports to leadership
  • Assist in maintaining press storylines, fact sheets, media outreach tracking documents, and media distribution lists

What We’re Looking For:

  • 3+ years of experience in media, agency or PR required
  • Proven track record of executing measurable media relations at a national level
  • Familiarity with Cision
  • Strong storytelling ability
  • A passion for travel, credit cards and points and miles is a plus

Compensation

  • Cash Compensation Range: $68,000-$110,000*
    *Note actual salary is based on geographic location, qualifications, and experience.
