RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the design, analysis, and development of propulsion systems for advanced satellites, contributing to the fulfillment of mission requirements.
- Assist in the integration, testing, and qualification of propulsion hardware, including component- and system-level testing.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of propulsion technologies with a focus on performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Perform propulsion system simulations and support performance analysis under guidance from senior engineers.
- Participate in system-level trade studies and help evaluate propulsion options based on mission needs.
- Work closely with engineers from structures, avionics, and thermal teams to support integration and testing of propulsion subsystems.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 2-7+ years of hands-on experience in the design, development, and testing of spacecraft propulsion systems.
- Experience in propulsion system modeling and analysis tools.
- Ability to support complex engineering projects with multiple stakeholders, meeting deadlines and deliverables.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Experience with chemical propulsion systems, preferably hypergolic and/or green propellant in-space systems.
- Knowledge of CAD tools such as SolidWorks for propulsion system design.
- Hands-on experience with propulsion test setups, including vacuum chamber testing and instrumentation.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, startup environment or a similarly dynamic setting.
- Ability to maintain or obtain TS/SCI clearance
COMPENSATION
- Base Salary: $90,000-120,000 for Propulsion Engineer I; $100,000-135,000 for Propulsion Engineer II
- Equity + Benefits including Health, Dental, Vision, HRA/HSA options, PTO and paid holidays, 401K, Parental Leave
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job related knowledge and skills, education, location and experience.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Work Location—this role will be an onsite position based out of our Gravity Works office in Denver.
- Travel—employees can expect to travel up to 25% to the LA factory.
- Work environment—the work environment; temperature, noise level, inside or outside, or other factors that will affect the person's working conditions while performing the job.
- Physical demands—the physical demands of the job, including bending, sitting, lifting and driving.
