Job Description

  

Job Summary:

Reporting to the supervisor of our project management group, the Technical Project Manager (TPM) performs in-house and on-site evaluation and technical support of FLIR Solution products for key customers throughout DACH and Central Europe. The TPM is embedded within the global technical support group and will be required to travel periodically to customer sites to perform pre-sales and post-sales support on integrated products.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Receives work assignments from the manager and works within a team environment tasked with project and technical product support.
  • Is responsible for the “technical installation” and day to day follow up of our projects and installations within the assigned territory
  • During pre-sales, installation, final acceptance and after sales of a project you will be the main technical contact point for our end users and/or system integrators
  • Collaborates with technical support colleagues and periodically travels to customer sites to perform commissioning, fine tuning, troubleshooting, acceptance testing, training and any other technical after-sales related tasks
  • Collaborates with sales managers to provide pre-sales support
  • Documents all actions using our project and issue tracking systems
  • Interacts with internal teams and external customers and takes actions leading to a positive customer experience in alignment with company goals.
  • Establishes good relationship with colleagues to exchange customers feedback and/or important market information helpful for product and service improvement
  • Accomplishes work assignments in accordance with ISO 9001 and corporate Global Trade Compliance policies.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

  • A technical degree in electronics is required.
  • Five years of experience as a technical project manager preferably within the security  and/or  traffic electronics industry is required.
  • Applicants must be willing to travel up to 60% of the time to both domestic and international customer sites for a period of approximately 2 to 5 days per trip.
  • This position requires a mature professional who can work autonomously while collaborating with sales, product management, support and service colleagues to deliver a positive customer experience under demanding conditions.
  • Proven experience with technical installations of CCTV equipment, servers and network equipment is required.
  • Must have full command of MS office tools such as Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • The successful candidate will possess a working knowledge of current Linux OS (CentOS / Red hat), Windows Server and Docker platforms.
  • Must be a results-oriented professional with solid organizational and time management skills.
  • This is a customer-facing position that requires strong verbal and written communication skills in German and English, additional languages are a plus.

This position requires access to export-controlled information or items (i.e. regulated technology or technical data per ITAR/EAR US regulations). Applicants must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce.
