How you will create an impact
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the execution of the GDW Foundation Business Capabilities. You will be responsible for driving global strategic initiatives while leveraging Project Management, Continuous Improvement, and Operational Excellence methodologies. Someone who is respected for their ability to oversee programs and processes, provides inclusive leadership and guidance as it pertains to project planning, execution, status reporting, communication, financial management and issues/risk mitigation.
Acting as a servant leader and coach, you will lead an Agile Release Train (ART) towards successful value-driven delivery, understanding and coordinating dependencies and impediments, facilitating all ART events, fostering continuous improvement, and championing healthy Agile practices within your ART and across the organization
Some of the responsibilities could include:
- Closely manage project/programs from inception to closure in line with internal delivery methodology.
- Establish project timelines and milestones/deliverables using the appropriate tools.
- Act as a primary point of contact or escalation for all project related issues; Identify and resolve issues and conflicts that may impact the project.
- Manage the project budget/finances, including tracking of project resources.
- Effectively communicate and manage project expectations and status to project owners/sponsors, team members, and other stakeholders in a clear and concise fashion.
- Partners with Product Management to ensure a healthy program roadmap and backlog, fostering a value-driven approach to product development.
- Coach and mentor Scrum Masters within the organization to enhance their effectiveness in leading Agile teams.
- Establish metrics to provide operational insights that measure value flow predictability (the business value delivered against their planned objectives), program health, and teams/trains health.
- Collaborates with other leaders developing and maintaining standards, tools, and best practices related to Agile and SAFe methodologies.
- Support economic decision-making for epics/projects, understand and operate within budgets, ensuring adherence to financial guardrails.
What we’re looking for:
- 10+ years of Project Management experience within a regulated industry (minimum of 3 years of managing Agile projects).
- 10+ years of experience in the Agile/SAFe environment
- 10+ years in RTE role.
- Experience in delivering multiple projects simultaneously to the expected quality standards, and on time and within budget.
- Degree from a four-year college or university.
- Understanding of P&C Insurance industry, knowledge in commercial insurance domain preferred. Familiarity with Data & Analytics.
- Scaled Agile Framework / SAFe Certification.
- Deep knowledge and experience of Agile techniques: user story writing, backlog management, Agile planning and road mapping, continuous improvement, retro games.
- Excellent interpersonal, listening, written, and oral communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate across teams and leadership groups.
- Excellent coaching skills.
- Willingness to take on new challenges.
