The Opportunity
This position is a onsite opportunity in the Abbott Diabetes Care Division. We are helping people with Diabetes lead healthier, happier lives. Consistent and accurate glucose monitoring is the foundation of any diabetes management plan, so we’re committed to continuous improvement in the way patients and professionals measure, track and analyze glucose levels.
As a Project Leader, you will be part of the Digital Project Management Organization, which is responsible for the development and launch of new Digital products based on the FreeStyle Libre platform, the world's #1 continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) solution. As a leader of new systems programs, you will drive complex projects to commercialize products including wearable sensors, glucose readers and product software.
You will assist with Digital Product strategy, evaluate ideas, prioritize features, define releases with R&D, manage product roadmap, timelines, budget, coordinate and drive ADC worldwide R&D, Operations, Regulatory, Quality and Commercial activities associated with these projects.
What You’ll Work On

Leads a matrix team with a high degree of accountability for balancing scope, budget, and quality decisions, collaborating with other stakeholders to optimize portfolio value creation.

Formulates, harmonizes, and consolidates project scopes, plans, strategies, and budgets for one or more projects, working closely with functional Project Managers and Subject Matter Experts from R&D, Commercial, Clinical, Regulatory, Quality, Manufacturing, and other functions.

Liaises with other Project Owners, functional managers, and management to prioritize activities across programs to balance resource availability, program deliverables, schedule, and business needs.

Drives alignment on key decisions and report on project status, while preparing and presenting information as needed to ensure project continuity, maintaining high visibility and accountability.

Confirms the ongoing strategic rationale for projects, and for the ongoing planning, scheduling, monitoring, and reporting of projects.

Executes programs to completion, ensuring successful market entry, or promptly recommends termination to management if technical, commercial, or other developments indicate potential project failure, unless resolved through creative problem solving.

Ensures division-wide thinking and problem-solving are incorporated into project execution while driving for resolution in cross-functional problem solving, communication, and integration.

Has the flexibility to quickly adapt and produce in a rapidly changing environment, meeting aggressive product launch schedules.

Champions PMO best practices to drive better project planning, execution, project prioritization, and change management within Commercial Programs.
Experiences You’ll Bring
Required
-
Bachelor’s Degree in a discipline appropriate to the project or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Minimum 7 years of related work experience.

Extensive knowledge of project management processes.

Capable of comprehending the core solution being developed or deployed, including its business value, roadmap, alignment with overall strategy, and associated risks.

Extensive in-depth knowledge of project planning techniques and working knowledge of automated project planning tools required.
Preferred

Previous work experience in the medical devices industry.
