The Role
We are looking for a Project Lead to support the Global Policy and Governance function within Compliance in leading and co-ordinating its large and mid sized enhancement efforts. The Global Policy and Governance function manages multiple Compliance Policies and Governance protocols for Block enterprise wide, including monitoring and testing, policy frameworks, training and risk assessment programs. Working in a global capacity, you will work on many cross functional projects, giving you exposure to different business lines and the geographies where Block operates.
You will join the Global Policy and Governance Leadership team and work with others across Compliance, Enterprise Risk, Procurement and Legal teams. This role can be hired remotely.
You Will

  • Develop roadmaps and project plans. Frame and scope the problem statement, build requirements, work with partners (including leadership), identify dependencies, reduce risks and drive the project progress
  • Build tactical and scalable solutions for teams to manage compliance tasks and risks
  • Stay on top of regulatory developments, industry trends and roadmaps to guide decisions
  • Independently develop and implement strategic programs
  • Develop goals and key metrics for the project and organization
  • Influence across multiple levels and be a trusted advisor to all partners
  • Develop detailed reporting (this will require project reporting and assisting with ad-hoc reporting for the leadership team)
  • Work with Compliance Leadership on shaping and influencing the design of deliverables and outcomes in respect to this track of work
  • Manage ad-hoc projects and tasks assigned to you by the Head of Global Policy and Governance.


You Have

  • 8+ years experience in project management, program management, consulting, strategy, or related area
  • Expert in creating very clear documentation and recommendations
  • A metrics-driven approach to create substantiated solutions
  • Experience managing strategic and operationally complex projects with cross-functional teams
  • An ability to distill complex issues into solvable tasks
  • Clear written skills that reflect high attention to detail
  • Experience managing large projects from ideation-to-execution (full project lifecycle)
  • Experience establishing processes
  • Ability to quickly develop relationships with leaders, partners and team members with data and subject matter expertise
  • Experience in operational excellence and process improvement methodologies.

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
