The Research Triangle Park (RTP) facility is home to Catalent's Inhalation franchise including product development, clinical and commercial manufacturing for pMDI, DPI and Nasal Sprays. 

Catalent Pharma Solutions is Morrisville, NC is hiring a Project Engineer who would supervise small groups such as facilities, manufacturing maintenance, and/or the engineering team. The position would also entail leading technical efforts including but not limited to capital projects, process improvement efforts, energy conservation initiatives, leading EH&S sub-teams, and other engineering efforts. The position must be familiar with project management, cGMP, validation, and collaborating with multiple groups. The expectation is that this position can drive multiple projects and the same time.

This is a full-time salaried role. The core hours are Monday – Friday 8:00AM – 5:00PM

The Role:

  • Manage projects (capital, construction, utility, green initiatives, etc.), which includes overseeing the project planning process, including developing a project implementation plan, collecting project requirements, defining project scope, defining project activities, developing project activity sequencing, establishing activity resource needs, establishing activity durations, developing project schedules, developing cost estimates, and developing communications and risk management plans
  • Conduct space feasibility and utilization studies and prepare reports on findings; recommend changes in space assignment and assist management in the identification of problems, trends, or future space needs and make recommendations
  • Support capital projects to ensure equipment/fixture solutions are implemented into the manufacturing area in an effective & and timely manner (includes aiding in the FAT, installation, commissioning, validation, and other related on-boarding activities); activities could include authoring User Requirement Specifications, Functional Requirement Specifications, Design, equipment specifications, troubleshooting guides, & work instructions/job aids; successful implementation will involve building up a strong working relationship with vendors and all the manufacturing process stakeholders
  • Examine, design, and implement industrial-improved processes and solutions
  • Identify, plan, and implement key projects to improve quality, reduce costs, increase productivity, and improve cycle time by reducing wasted time, rework, etc. using site SME knowledge
  • All other duties as assigned

The Candidate:

  • Master's degree in an Engineering discipline with at least five (4) years of experience as a Process, Chemical, Mechanical, or Reliability Engineer in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment required; OR Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline with at least four (5) years of experience as a Process, Chemical, Mechanical, or Reliability Engineer in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment required; OR with Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline with at least seven (7) years of experience in a Project Engineer, Project Manager or Construction Superintendent role required;
  • Requires the ability to walk, sit and stand, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms at or above shoulder height and below waist height, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl;
  • Ability to speak, listen and smell effectively;
  • Specific vision requirements include reading of written documents, visual troubleshooting of equipment, and use of a computer monitor screen;
  • May be required to fulfill requirements for operation of a motorized vehicle (vision, hearing, physical limitations) or use of a respirator;
  • Individual may be required to sit, stand, walk regularly and occasionally lift 0-40 pounds;
