Project Engineer (HBK Italy srl)

The Position 

We are currently looking for a Project Engineer for our Engineering Services Team.  This role will be responsible for supporting our customers and colleagues with measurement projects in the field of mechanical quantities, such as strain, torque, force, displacement, acceleration and vibration.

You will join our dedicated field operated department in Europe to support various projects.  This position will be based in Milano (Italy), with travel throughout Italy, Spain and Worldwide.

You will have the opportunity to apply your knowledge to our large and varied customer base, covering industries such as renewable energy, hydro, nuclear, infrastructure and defence. If you like to combine mechanical theory with real, practical industrial application - join us!

The position is based in Milano, however, travel is required in Italy, Spain and Worldwide (approx. 50%). Possibility of remote working when presence on site or in the laboratory is not required (once autonomous).

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Planning, instrumentation and reporting for measurement projects in the field,

  • To develop and realize custom sensors

  • Management of project-related technical and HSE documentation

  • Supporting customers in the field of electrical and optical measurement of mechanical quantities, software and hardware.

  • Working closely with the Sales Team to create offers to clients.

  • Reporting on trends and opportunities in the market that might influence HBK’s position.

  • Support and promote Service Level Agreements.

  • Respond quickly and efficiently to calls.

Professional Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree level in Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineering.

  • Ability to apply theoretical concepts to real life setting.

  • Previous experience with measurements and instruments in the field.

  • Experience in Automotive, Defence, Aerospace, Renewables, Oil & Gas or Civil Engineering would be an advantage.

Personal Skills

  • Excellent level of Italian and good level of English

  • Excellent manual skills

  • Autonomy, ability to organize work time

  • Curious by nature, with a desire to develop your knowledge and acquire new technical skills

  • Natural interest in talking to and helping customers.

  • Enjoys working in a team

  • Able to look at the bigger picture.

  • Enjoys to travel

  • Knowledge of Autocad tool is a preference
