PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
 The Project Engineer, EI&C provides corporate project engineering and project
management services related to projects at all VIIA sites in the field of electrical, instrumentation and controls (EI&C) engineering related to Growth projects throughout all project phases from feasibility, front-end-loading engineering through detail engineering, construction, commissioning and turn-over to operations.
 Provide a project engineering service between Consultant, contractor and Vopak internal stakeholders throughout all projects within your scope
 Review and make professional judgement on designs based on Vopak Standards.
 Ensure project is carried out in accordance with the Vopak Project Management (VPM) requirements, regulatory and statutory requirements.
 Demonstrating excellent stakeholder management skills
 Perform project development including project scope, cost estimate and schedule. Familiar with project FEL process for project identification and option selection.
 Manage and execute projects through all phases from project budget and development, through construction, commissioning, and completion, within budget, schedule,
regulatory requirements, and industry accepted practices, as well as leading others as
appropriate.
 Onsite construction management through all phases, coordinate with Operations to develop operations, maintenance, and start-up procedures.
 Develop material/construction bid packages for soliciting material/contractor bids, and eventual project execution (including drawings, specifications, work scopes and schedules).
 Assist with project procurement and material handling.
 Lead external multi-disciplinary teams and serve as a technical leader.
 Apply economic evaluations such as cost savings, profit improvements and operational improvements to optimize project output.
 Provide technical guidance to operating personnel.
 Lead project incident investigations.
 Communicate project progress and results in a concise and understandable manner.
 Support the Department’s safety, health, and environmental policies.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
 Required minimum 5 years relevant job experience.
 Required bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field of study.
 Competence in Project Management activities specific to EI&C scope such as scope development, cost estimates, bid package development, scheduling, change order management, spending plan, vendor evaluation / review, etc.
 Experience and knowledge in Power Distribution for Medium Voltage and Low Voltage (Switchgear, MCC, PDP, Transformers, VFD. etc), equipment specifications, wiring diagrams, one-lines, motor elementaries, power studies, arc flash calc, hazardous area classification, etc.

 Experience and knowledge in Instrumentation (i.e. measurement technologies and their applications, Instrument sizing and specification, Piping and Instrumentation diagram (P&ID), communication protocols, etc.)
 Experience and knowledge in Controls (i. e. Process safety and controls strategies, DCS, PLC's, Safety Instrument Systems (SIS), I/O counts, Functional Descriptions, Control System Architecture, Network Bus Protocols, etc.)
 Experience and knowledge in E&I construction documentation like cable tray and raceway plans, power plans, lighting plans, grounding and lightning protection plans, seismic bracing, general arrangements, instrument location plans, instrument loop sheets, instrument hookup details, etc.
 Thorough understanding of engineering principles, relevant codes (NEC, NPFA, UL, etc.), and construction practices to effectively execute projects.
 Must possess strong communications, analytical, and organizational and skills for working with all levels within the organization.
 Proficient computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheet calculations, project scheduling and presentation development within Microsoft Office applications.
 Preferred prior experience in chemical storage terminals in the following areas: o Electrical – Automation, Controls, Instrumentation, Motors, Power
 Ability and willingness to travel as required (est. 25%) and be self-motivated.
