The role
This role is part of the People and Culture organization and will support the Gemini team, Gemini is our conversational AI tool that enables users to collaborate with generative AI and help augment their imagination, expand their curiosity, and enhance their productivity.
The team leads and delivers large, strategic programs with a people focus. Collaborating closely with all our people functions, P&C Programs has a unique central viewpoint of the entire portfolio with its core mission to enable Google DeepMind to grow, thrive and accelerate towards the mission in the most effective way possible!
In this role you will work on a variety of high priority, company-wide programs and initiatives to scope and deliver against critical and continually evolving deliverables and set programs up for long term success. Working closely with partners across People and Culture, you'll build direction and structure, craft creative solutions and simplify complexity.
This role requires someone who is innovative and collaborative in their approach to problem solving. It’s crucial you have previous project management experience, excellent judgment and communication skills and a passion for continuous learning.
Key responsibilities:
- Drive end-to-end project planning and delivery, using your knowledge of project methodologies including tools and techniques such as stand ups, retrospectives, agile boards, project plans etc
- Structure and manage a portfolio of programs and projects; manage resources and respond to any changes in strategic direction or pace of implementation
- Partner with teams to organize and optimize work into clear objectives, handle risks, anticipate issues and offer creative solutions
- Facilitate conversations, meetings and opportunities for collaboration to drive the best outcomes; create connections and relationships
- Navigate an ambiguous and changeable environment to drive and track progress and maintain up to date information and relevant technical documentation
- Analyze workforce trends and data to identify skill gaps, resource allocation needs, and potential areas for improvement, developing and implementing proactive solutions to address them
- See opportunities to improve ways of working, tools or processes
- Partner with multiple stakeholders across the organisation, share critical information with key decision makers and influence positive outcomes
- Provide coaching for individuals to overcome challenges and ensure the conditions are right to enable teams to produce pioneering and mission focused work
- Lead brainstorms and idea sharing, help to identify key themes, simplify sophisticated problems and discover solutions
- Support and drive engagement across the team by building relationships, sharing constructive feedback, challenging established ways of thinking and inspiring them to achieve their full potential
- Evaluate the success of programs against their aims, goals and objectives
About you
In order to set you up for success as a People and Culture Program Manager at Google DeepMind, we look for the following skills and experience:
- Knowledge and expertise in project/program management, with the skill to navigate through ambiguity and adjust and adapt plans and strategies as project conditions change
- Experience in managing large complex programs and organisational change, solving challenges and implementing sustainable solutions
- Experience in utilising coaching techniques to support individuals from diverse set of backgrounds in an ambitious environment
- Strong communicator, able to develop meaningful relationships with key partners and use these to influence action and outcomes
- Experienced supporting teams in fast-paced and constantly evolving environments
- Experience working within an HR function/across People & Culture programs, with a solid understanding of HR principles and best practices.
- Naturally curious and enjoy working across a large range of different subjects with ease, quickly gaining the knowledge you need to be effective
- Passionate about our mission, proactive about learning and acquiring knowledge to enhance your experience
The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $139,000 - $214,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your targeted location during the hiring process.
