Job Summary:
The Program Director at Harry Meyering Center is responsible for setting the standards for individual program and related policies and procedures, ensuring all services and supports are delivered in a person-centered manner. The Program Director oversees the self-directed programs, including Representative Payee, Consumer Directed Community Supports (CDCS), and Community First Services and Supports (CFSS). This leadership role provides assistance, support, and encouragement to meet the needs of the individuals served by Harry Meyering Center. The Program Director must meet the criteria of a Designated Manager and/or Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) and must qualify under the qualifications of a Lead Employee for CFSS.
Location: Onsite in Mankato, Minnesota.

Schedule: Typically, Monday–Friday, business hours with possible evening/weekend hours as needed based on the needs of staff and the individuals served.
Wage: $74,000 to $80,000 annual salary, depending on experience.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of high-quality, person-centered services while ensuring compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations, including DHS licensing and provider enrollment.
  • Develop and implement program policies, procedures, and a quality management system to ensure effective operations, adequate staffing, and continuous service improvement.
  • Oversee Customer Management Systems for enrollments, billing, and data management, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
  • Maintain professional communication with individuals, families, case managers, county and state officials, and stakeholders to evaluate and enhance service delivery.
  • Supervise team members, conduct regular staff meetings and training, and foster a collaborative, positive work environment.
  • Act as the primary liaison for grievances, ensuring investigations and necessary actions are taken.
  • Advocate for individuals' rights and ensure adherence to health and safety policies, HIPAA compliance, and Affirmative Action goals.
  • Participate in budget creation, financial monitoring, and coordinate admission/discharge processes for individuals served.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and promote a positive public image of the program at local, state, and regional levels.
  • Actively participate in internal committees and external organizations/associations.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Community First Services and Supports Qualifications:

  • Must meet one of the following education requirements:
    • Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy, Registered Nurse, or a Bachelor's degree or higher in one of the following fields: Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Psychology, Social Work, Speech-Language Pathology, Dietetics, Sociology, Counseling, Special Education, Rehabilitation Counseling, or related human services fields.
    • Proof of degree or education required with official transcripts.
  • Alternatively, candidates with at least one year of experience working directly with people who have an intellectual or developmental disability and an associate’s degree or higher in a related field of study may be considered.
  • At least two years of experience in one or more of the following fields:
    • CDCS support planning, Support Broker, Case Management, Care Coordination, or Consumer Education in self-directed services.

General Qualifications:

  • Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills and ability to problem-solve.
  • Advanced knowledge of technology programs (Outlook, Excel, Word, Adobe, PowerPoint) and willingness to learn applicable systems.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Exceptional documentation skills and knowledge of systems, routines, and programming.
  • Must pass the MN Department of Human Services Background Study.

Harry Meyering Center, Inc. is a residential provider for adults with physical and developmental disabilities.

Harry Meyering Center, Inc. opened in 1973 as a home for 44 individuals with developmental disabilities, which was made possible by the efforts of the local ARC and the parents of those 44 individuals.

We have since grown to serve 150 people in three programs, which include the Intermediate Care Facility (ICF), the Supportive Living Service (SLS), and Semi-Independent Living Services (SILS/SLS In-home).

HMC strives to provide the people we serve and their families with services that encourage dreams, focus on independence, foster community connections, help people cope with life-changing events and offer special attention to safety, health needs and security.
