Position: Program Associate, Jordan 

Reports to: Program Director

Scope: CIPE is seeking a full-time Program Associate based in Amman, Jordan supporting CIPE’s projects in Jordan, the Levant, and Yemen. This position is responsible for assisting in program implementation and supporting the Program Director and Regional leadership in tracking the programmatic, strategic, administrative, and legal tasks involved in completing programmatic work. 

Responsibilities:

Programmatic Responsibilities 

  • In coordination with supervisor, oversee contract fulfilment internationally which includes maintaining regular communication with contractors, tracking progress of deliverables, updating narrative and financial reports, vetting final products, and corresponding with contractors to submit the final paperwork. 

  • Collaborate with Levant DC team members and other CIPE departments to ensure effective and efficient programs administration and management, including processing of payment requests, grant modifications, narrative and financial reports, and as directed by the Levant Program Director.

  • Assist in the provision of technical assistance to project beneficiaries, including provision of training, survey/assessments development, and other programmatic tasks as directed.

  • Monitor key local and regional developments, events and trends related to CIPE’s Levant portfolio (including all key programming areas CIPE operates in) and help analyze how they create opportunities for advancing CIPE’s mission and goals. 

  • Apply robust monitoring and evaluation processes within project frameworks in Jordan, Palestine, Yemen, and Lebanon.

  • Assist in writing, reviewing, editing and preparing reports, program proposals, articles and other documents for submission to donor agencies. 

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Levant Program Director. 

  • Contribute to an organization-wide culture of innovation, impact, efficiency, and high performance.

Business Development Responsibilities 

  • Work with the Levant Program Director to maintain and build partnerships with Jordanian civil society organizations and Levant partners as directed and to develop new partnerships and relationships with project stakeholders, including donor organizations. 

  • In coordination with regional team leadership, support new business development opportunities and write concept notes for potential funding opportunities. 

Communications Responsibilities 

  • Manage or contribute to public outreach and communications, which may include managing social media accounts, writing blogs, drafting social media posts, designing infographics, photographing and recording activities and events, and drafting promotional materials. 

Administrative Responsibilities 

  • Create and maintain a variety of program, financial, correspondence and contract files, both on paper and electronically. 

  • Coordinate local and international travel arrangements and local meeting logistics for regional staff, consultants, and program participants. 

  • In coordination with regional leadership, support planning and executing internal and external events, including writing announcements and invitations, coordinating guests, publicizing on social media, and acting as primary tech support during run of show. 

  • Perform legal and subject matter specific research, as needed. 

  • Recruit, onboard, and manage seasonal interns, as needed, including assigning and managing day-to-day tasks and professional development opportunities. 

  • Adhere to appropriate CIPE and donor policies and procedures. 

  • Translate partner documents or other programmatic materials. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields is required: International Relations, International Business, Economic Development, Finance, Political Science, Public Administration or Public Policy; Master’s degree is preferred. 

  • Minimum 3 years of administrative or programmatic experience required; at least 2 years project management experience supporting international development programs preferred. 

  • Background in international affairs with an emphasis on political and economic issues and/or democracy development programs required; background or experience in association/chambers management, services, or organizational development and excellence preferred.

  • Excellent English and Arabic writing and verbal skills required. 

  • Excellent interpersonal, coordination, and communication skills. 

  • Superb writing, research, and analytical abilities. 

  • Ability to take initiative, prioritize and manage multiple, detail-oriented tasks. simultaneously with limited supervision. 

  • Strong computer skills, proficiency in MS-Office, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook. 

  • Demonstrated strong critical thinking and analytical skills. 

  • Strong financial acumen and ability to develop and monitor project budgets. 

  • Strong training skills; Mentoring, coaching skills preferred as well.

  • Ability to work in a diverse team environment, across time zones and hybrid setting. 

  • High degree of culture competence. 

  • Contribute to an organization-wide culture of innovation, integrity, inclusion, and respect.
