IDEAL ELECTRIC COMPANY, a 121-year-old American-owned electric motor and generator manufacturer, is seeking a talented Production Control associate to join our on-site team in Mansfield, Ohio. Reporting to the VP of Operations, the Production Control position plays an integral role in the introduction of orders to the manufacturing team, including the creation of bills of materials and purchasing related activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify and establish vendors
  • Purchase products, materials, and component parts
  • Outsource services required for the manufacturing process
  • Record activities in company's ERP system and other records maintenance platforms as required
  • Create BOMs (bills of materials)
  • Issue routings to the manufacturing/production floor
  • Maintain MRO system
  • Communicate, and collaborate closely with Engineering and Production team members

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES

  • High School Diploma or certified equivalent, and/or education obtained through a tech school, college, or related courses
  • Experience in a position requiring excellent communication skills and exceptional attention to detail, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Project management experience is a plus.
  • Experience working with, and building relationships with, vendors in a B2B environment
  • Ability to prioritize and complete tasks within required deadlines
  • Technical literacy with proficiency in the Microsoft Office 365 suite; experience with ERP systems is a plus

WORKING CONDITIONS AND WORK HOURS

  • Daily minimum of 8 hours. Weekly 40 hour minimum.
  • This position generally operates in a professional office environment and may occasionally be required to move about the production areas of the facility
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as phones, computers, copiers/printers

  • The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb, or balance
  • The employee must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds unassisted, and to climb ladders and scaffolding to heights of 20 feet
