Maxar Space is currently seeking a Production Control Planner to join our team in San Jose, CA.

Your Project: In this role, you will be part of a team that supports subsystem manufacturing operations and will perform day-to-day production control activities to ensure products are built on time to support company schedules. You will act as an expeditor responsible for moving subassemblies from area-to-area in order to support the entire build of the spacecraft.

What you'll do day-to-day (with your colleagues):
- Prepare shop orders for materials and product processing
- Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between departments according to manufacturing schedules or priorities
- Attend production meetings and provides status on material shortage commitment dates
- Investigate and drive resolution of production issues and problems relating to shortages, variances, or other impediments to smooth material flow through the factory
- Coordinate logistics of product movement between manufacturing work centers and manufacturing facilities
- Work closely with manufacturing engineering to maintain revision control for all shop orders
- Ensure shop orders and rework shop orders are closed in a timely manner
Minimum requirements for this position:
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- High school diploma
- Minimum of two years of material handling in a production control-related manufacturing and operations environment
- Ability to understand how to work with a manufacturing bill of materials
- Ability to work on-site daily in or Palo Alto manufacturing location
These skills would be amazing:
- Aerospace industry experience
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems; preferably SAP or IFS
- Experience working with government contracting or subcontracting programs
- Proficient with applying Microsoft Office tools
- Active team player who works well in a fast-paced environment
- Organized, detail-oriented individual with ability to multi-task and maintain data accuracy

The successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range.
• The base pay for this position within Colorado is: $59,000.00 - $99,000.00 annually.
• The base pay for this position within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $65,000.00 - $109,000.00 annually.
• The base pay for this position within California is: $68,000.00 - $114,000.00 annually.
For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
