POSITION OVERVIEW

Working Location: Candidates with 3+ years of experience are eligible for in-office, hybrid, or fully remote schedules. Relocation subsidies available. For fully remote individuals, at least 2 visits (per year) to the Chicago headquarters are required. Please note candidates must be willing and able to travel absent a medical condition or ADA accommodation need.

Salary Range: $70k-$85k
The exact salary will vary based on years of experience and the level of proficiency in both hard and soft skills. It is uncommon for someone to be hired at the highest point of the salary range for their position. Job Description
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:
The right candidate will be a good-natured critical thinker who loves to solve problems through collaboration and iteration. This position offers a high degree of autonomy so the right candidate will be self-motivated, embrace the opportunity to create new solutions, and adept at receiving and processing a consistent stream of constructive feedback.
- Learn the ALIS Software. ALIS offers an in-depth suite of tools for assisted living communities – spanning everything from tracking prospects through invoicing for charges. The right person for this position is not looking to “own” a small portion of the product but is more interested in moving the product as a whole forward.
- Learn the industry. The assisted living industry is rapidly growing and preparing for the baby boomers to retire – ALIS must stay closely in tune with what is happening to remain the go-to solution.
- Scope new features and functionality. Gather requirements from internal teams and clients, scope work associated with features and design the first version of a solution.
- Create and Design. Create user interface mock-ups/drawings using low-fidelity tools like Balsamiq. Describe interaction and workflow, design for users with different levels of experience. Work with UX designers on creating prototypes.
- Collaborate and Iterate. Once the first design is complete, present the project scope and design idea to internal staff and clients, gather and incorporate feedback. Work with the Product Manager, UX Designer, Engineering Team, and Client Services team to revise, edit, update, and finalize the details of the feature as it makes its way through the process to being released.
- Communicate. Provide support and communication to Client Services and Onboarding teams on product and feature updates.
- Manage Feature Flow. Manage wish-list items/escalation tickets.
- Participate in Product Rollouts. Onboarding internal teams and clients onto new features, receiving feedback, and collaborating with teams to iterate on the solution. Possible to travel to client locations to rollout features.
Qualifications
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor degree desired or relevant professional experience
- Has worked professionally for 2+ years in a SaaS environment
- Reliable, disciplined, and hardworking
- Passionate about creating an easy to use web application
- Visual problem solver
- Investigative mindset, inquisitive, asks questions to get at the core of a problem
- Detail oriented
- Basic project management skills: can organize tasks, set dates, keep team accountable
- Enjoys working with a team to solve problems
- Enjoys technology and understanding how systems work

ALIS asks certain candidates for quick phone calls to gather additional information – these usually last about 5 minutes and are scheduled in advance and according to your schedule. Following a phone screen, candidates will be selected for an in-person interview (preferred) or a video interview. During the second round or third round review, candidates will be asked to complete a project or engage in a collaborative work session, any amount of project time over 2 hours will receive compensation. Please note that ALIS will cover necessary expenses related to interview travel. Candidates residing in border states within a four-hour drive or less will be reimbursed for mileage.
