Overview:

The Portfolio Manager (Senior Manager) is a global role crucial to driving innovation and growth in our Life Sciences Platforms business at Revvity. This position leads a global team of Product Managers to develop and execute product and commercial strategies that advance our mission of improving human health through science and technology.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Spearheading new product introductions
  • Developing strategic product roadmaps
  • Facilitating sales team training and engagement
  • Driving overall growth and profitability in portfolios including Cellular Imaging & Cell Counting, Detection, and In Vivo Imaging

The ideal candidate is a dynamic thinker with a proven track record of translating business goals into well-defined performance plans. They should demonstrate a results-driven approach and a sense of urgency in achieving objectives. Experience in building cross-functional relationships, managing OEM (original equipment manufacturer) partnerships, identifying potential acquisitions and overseeing their integration is highly desirable. Familiarity with R&D project management from concept to manufacturing, as well as lean manufacturing best practices, will be advantageous.

Success in building and managing global teams, coupled with strong change management skills, is essential. The role involves site visits and frequent attendance at our locations across Massachusetts, including Hopkinton, Lawrence, and Waltham.

Key Responsibilities:

OPERATIONAL

Product & Market Development and Business Execution

  • New Product Development and sustaining product oversight.
  • Set strategic direction and drive execution on multi-generational product strategy, roadmaps, quality, technology additions and margin improvement projects.
  • Keeping close to the market trends and assess viability of new technologies
  • Develop relationships with key opinion leaders across the globe.
  • Monitors competitive landscape, aligning strategy and tactics to drive growth
  • Cross functional partnering for problem solving with our customers, operations, quality, sales, etc.  Aid to remove any barriers to growing business sales and expanding the portfolio.
  • Drive continuous improvement processes cross functionally to drive top line growth, margin improvement and customer satisfaction.

LEAD GROWTH AND TRANSFORMATION

  • Strong ability to lead change management to implement new strategies, technologies and processes including ability to communicate, gain commitment and lead the team through the transition. To be applicable to the team being managed, cross-functions and global contexts.
  • Develop mechanisms to standardize strategic project across different business units (standalone & integrated) to drive global value.
  • Implement processes, conduct ROI analyses and derive lessons-learned
  • Review external innovation & technology landscape; provide collaboration and M&A activities.
  • Ensure appropriate resourcing of future growth driver technologies & projects
  • Partner with other BU counterparts (e.g. Reagents, Omics, etc) to identify cross-segment synergies and collaborations; encourage cross-BU career developments.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND a minimum of 10 years of experience working in R&D, commercial leadership and/or Product Management to develop and launch such products within the life sciences, biopharma, pharma, biotech, and diagnostic industries.
  • A minimum of 5 years leading a life science product portfolio unit.
  • A minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Travel requirements (10%-20% - domestic and international).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • The individual will have a degree in a technical discipline, ideally in the sciences. MBA is preferred or equivalent life experience.
  • Proven business leadership skills with 10 years between Product Management, Strategy, Commercial or Operation roles, preferably in Life Sciences, although adjacent markets will be considered.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strategic plans that meet business and customer needs.
  • Strong business acumen, analytical, decision making, communication and influencing skills.
  • Must be able to accomplish results in a cross-functional team environment, exhibiting formal and informal leadership skills, strong goal / results orientation and strong communication skills.
