The Product Owner has a significant role in realizing the vision of the product strategy and ensuring that products and services are developed with the needs of our customers in mind. This role has significant relationships and responsibilities outside the local team, including working with product, design, technology, program, business, regions, marketing, compliance and legal.

Role Responsibilities

  • Hands on experience in both upstream product and service definition, and downstream product development and execution.
  • Gather, analyze, and document project technical and non-technical requirements via user stories.
  • Write user stories that clearly describe the desired business outcome and contain non-prescriptive – but testable - Acceptance Criteria that enables teams to define the best solution.
  • Proven experience on owning responsibility for the overall application development lifecycle, including ensuring that project deliverables meet or exceed policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Suggesting improvements or enhancements to processes and systems to increase customer satisfaction or improve productivity.
  • Leading the testing of user stories along with the QA team to help meet the definition of done criteria.
  • Proficiency in requirement gathering and decomposing epics and features into user stories.
  • Strong understanding of data driven technical product management.
  • Define and manage the Sprint process with the Scrum master and manage backlog. 
  • Good understanding of how mobile apps and web systems work with basic knowledge of systems design.
  • Experience using agile scrum methodology drafting business requirements, prioritizing features, authoring user stories and acceptance criteria, and collaborating with cross-functional team members.
  • Investigating production issues, analyzing root cause and come up with optimizations.
  • To understand, analyze and produce data to meet various requirements based on the purpose and target audience.
  • Conduct market research and create business cases.
  • Manage products through the product development lifecycle ensuring that proper alignment and approvals are obtained from Legal, Compliance and Privacy.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills.

Role Requirements

  • 6-8 years of professional experience with product management, specifically in Digital payments space
  • Excellent understanding of various payment methods like – Bank account, Cards, ACH, Retail etc.
  • Strong knowledge of payment flows and use cases.
  • Proficiency in understanding settlement models, banking and settlement operations.
  • Knowledge of bank fees and various fee structures.
  • Strong experience with Agile methodologies is required, including the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), Scrum, Kanban.
  • Experience in supporting business and product teams in translating complex business needs into user stories.
  • Experience in backlog grooming and user stories decomposition.
  • Ability to test user stories against acceptance criteria.
  • Strong knowledge of business process analysis and requirements analysis.
  • Proven ability to ask probing questions to business/product/technology team members.
  • Experience in Agile tools such as Jira, Confluence, Rally etc.
  • Good understanding of the Product Development Lifecycle.
  • Understanding of complex product environment and dependencies.
  • Experience in writing database SQL/HQL queries.
  • Advanced MSOffice skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Strong communication skills with ability to interact with cross-functional roles.
  • Mentoring, coaching, and team building skills.
  • Strong ability to assess risk and apply risk management practices in managing technical product development initiatives.
