Business Banking (BB) manages relationships with Commonwealth Bank’s small-medium enterprise customers, mid-market corporate customers, and regional and agribusiness customers, providing a wide range of financial services and solutions.
Business Lending (BL) offers working capital, business loans, asset finance, corporate finance, and property finance to our customers. BL is directly responsible for product management, process management, technology, portfolio and pricing management and arrears and financial difficulty management as well as Line 1 risk and controls.
The Digital and Automated Lending crew, including the Credit Risk Strategy (CRS) team are accountable for automating and digitising business lending so we can deliver faster and seamless credit to our business lending customers. With a customer obsession to delight our customers we aim to leverage data and technology to provide faster decisions and funds to our customers.

Lead and define the Contingent Liability / Bank Guarantee vision, goals and roadmap. Lead the end-to-end development of the roadmap ensuring maximum output and quality from the squad. Apply domain expertise to support prioritisation and successful achievement of crew and squad objectives. The roadmap will cover origination and in life journeys, well as significant strategic transformation and change delivery. You will lead a team of on-shore product managers.
Your responsibilities include:

Lead and develop the Contingent Liability / Bank Guarantee product roadmap, and engagement with senior stakeholders/business units to manage the delivery of product roadmap

Apply expertise to support prioritisation, balance trade-offs, and explore strategies to successfully achieve business outcomes

Manage senior business and technical stakeholders to ensure that prioritisation is understood and agreed to
-
Influence and drive outcomes through the engagement and collaboration with senior stakeholders across multiple business units (Business and Technology)

Act as the voice of the customer and business and translate this for the squad.

Release prototypes and iterate to meet customer needs and achieves the Crew’s goals fast

Drive product exploration (e.g. using design thinking and analytics) and formulate hypotheses to validate product strategy / design

Own and manage pricing, financials, Return On Investment, operational and credit risks, incidents and/or supplier relationships

Ensure all obligations across customer, regulatory, internal policy and process frameworks (e.g. GDF, PDDP, RiC) are fully met and satisfied.

Deliver operational risk and issue management for a large set of controls, including implementation of new controls as needed, and management of execution risks/issues

Address roadblocks, impediments, and dependencies driving decisions and resolving escalations

Create an exceptional squad and Crew culture and contribute to the Product Owner community and chapter

Lead the Squad day-to-day to deliver change and lifecycle activities

Manage the Squad’s performance against defined objectives including OKR tracking, etc.

Drive squad effectiveness and agile maturity (i.e. sprint burn down, release burn up, and squad/team health) in partnership with Agile Coaches and Performance Leads

Ensure the squad is customer obsessed, enabling initiatives to deliver exceptional customer experience outcomes

Provide coaching, constructive feedback and mentoring for our people

Maintain a well prioritised backlog to deliver business and customer outcomes

Proven Product Owner experience, ideally within lending or business banking

A technical background and/or good technical understanding
