The Strategy, Technology and Operations team is part of the broader Marketing and Corporate Affairs (MCA) team. It is responsible for leading the development and delivery of the MCA strategy, planning, technology and operations that enables the future of MCA to be realised.
The Strategy & Performance team supports MCA drive strategic and operational excellence.
Do Work That Matters
The purpose of this role is drive and enable (1) process excellence (2) transformational business outcomes as well as (3) embedding and sustaining a culture i.e. mindsets and behaviours of process excellence within the business unit in which the role operates.
The role will also contribute to the functional operations of MCA to support delivery against our strategic priorities and mature the agility mindset and capability of the function.
The role will be expected to perform the following tasks in a manner consistent with CBA's Values and People Capabilities.
- Lead process improvement initiatives: Lead multiple concurrent projects or programmes of work (various complexity) with the overarching ambition to simplify and streamline processes, while managing operational risk.
- Identify process improvement opportunities: Be able to identify process improvement opportunities, scope and quantify potential benefits of those opportunities – then deliver to those benefits
- Stakeholder engagement: Engage across the function / Group to assess and deliver process improvement initiatives – including refining problem statements, understand root cause, outline target state and measures of success, identify opportunities and monitor and govern implementation.
- Monitor: Monitor and maintain oversight of status of all processes, improvements, ensuring governance requirements are meet, set performance targets and track against objectives, reporting to executive forums on a regular basis.
- Measurable outcomes: Be able to demonstrate at the end of a reporting period what material benefit has been achieved as a result of the process improvement work undertaken.
- Build competence. Coach the function in learning and applying process excellence (during BAU continuous improvement and/or project execution)
- Establish continuous improvement and mature process management practices.
- Undertake any other tasks assigned by your manager that you have the capability to perform safely
We’re interested in hearing from people who have
- Minimum 5 – 8 years prior experience in a complex process excellence or business improvement environment
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher with demonstrated experience process re-design.
- Experience with effective planning and the ability to contribute to tactical and strategic planning in support of the business plan
- Managed a number of disciplinary, complex, strategically important projects end to end with quantifiable service, productivity, experience and/or risk outcomes
- Engaged with confidence and influenced effectively senior business stakeholders through to Subject Matter Experts/ Process Owners
- Strong decision making, communication (written, verbal and presentation) and prioritisation skills
- Strong analytical skills and commercial acumen
- Proactive, positive attitude, self-starter who takes ownership to drive toward an optimal outcome – able to think outside the box and deliver pragmatic and creative business solutions
- Experience as a leader of work in an Agile environment is desirable
