SALARY: 3/E : £59,850 - £66,500

LOCATION: Manchester

HOURS: Full-time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week on site and 3 days from home. Additionally, you can work from home all 5 days a week for 6 weeks in July and August each year.

We have a vacancy in our Pega Product Portfolio for a Product Owner, where you'll play a crucial role to help us deliver change at pace, across our Pega products.

We have almost completed a large-scale modernisation and simplification of our Pega applications onto a single Pega 8 Cloud hosted Customer Service application, enabling a huge opportunity to use this to help further mature and transform customer and colleague journeys. Our mission involves transforming key “moments of truth” processes like Bereavement and Power of Attorney, as well as other integral processes such as Industry Account Switching, ISA Transfers, DSAR, Savings Product Maturities, Credit Card Servicing.

Role Purpose:

Seeking individuals excited to transform customer and colleague outcomes using the latest Pega Cloud technology!.  You’ll need to be able to create and articulate a product vision and turn this into reality through agile delivery. You’ll support and handle varied groups of people, ensuring you hold others to account. You'll excel at working with diverse individuals, encouraging lasting connections, and navigating uncertainty to get results.

You'll be responsible for the day-to-day leadership of a Pega feature team. This includes managing & reporting to senior stakeholders up to Exec level, leading the team to plan and execute agile delivery, ensuring all governance is completed, helping to shape the roadmap and vision for a set of products, providing input on prioritisation based on differing customer demands, supporting the team in understanding & removing blockers.

Not only do we use Pega technology to deliver some amazing outcomes for the Smarter Journeys Lab, we also support customer and colleague journeys and inbound change demand from platforms across Consumer Relationships and beyond to deliver their outcomes.

You’ll be accountable for delivery of your product outcomes, working with your team, and across teams in other platform labs and 3rd parties. You’ll partner with Integrators, Customer Journey Managers, Engineers, Product Managers and dependant Platforms, to bring requested features to life.

Required skills include the ability to:

  • Lead teams in technical and business change delivery, using efficient agile methodologies to deliver iterative value to our colleagues and customers, at the earliest opportunity.
  • Understand the business and operational landscape that your product(s) operate within, ensuring the business impact of change is understood, and changes support the strategic direction of both the business area and technology.
  • Support inbound demand, working with integrators and your team to ensure this is supported through a process of impact assessment, solutioning, sizing and scheduling.
  • Support the management of the lab backlog, balancing inbound demand with the Labs own outcomes.
  • Work with other Product Owners to develop a North Star vision and strategic roadmap for current and future products, to support the future needs of our colleagues and customers.
  • Work with Integrators to ensure dependencies are identified at the earliest opportunity, assist in interlock to enable your team to deliver at pace.
  • Identify risks, issues and blockers to delivery and where possible mitigate / resolve, raising to product owner(s) / lab leadership where required
  • Complete all governance related activity for your deliveries including PRIA, YCF, PCF, SI.

Bring to the role:

  • Background in Product Ownership, Project Management, Technical Delivery Management or experience in delivering technical business change.
  • Strong personal ownership and accountability

Ideally, you’ll also bring:

  • Knowledge / experience of Pega, and how it is used within the bank
  • Experience of business and/or IT change delivery; proficient in the use of all core change tools (JIRA, Jira Align and Confluence)
  • Experience of working with geographically disparate software development teams or working with our partners, such as TCS and/or other external software vendors to LBG.
  • A growth mindset, striving to grow you own capabilities by pursuing and investing in personal development opportunities
  • A curiosity to adopt new ways of working and finding a way to incorporate agile practices
