This role is responsible for assisting the Product Manager in executing the portfolio strategy for their category, ensuring that our products and experiences exceed the expectations of the Vista customer. We are looking for an effective communicator with analytical capabilities and the ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks in collaboration with stakeholders across the business in a fast-paced environment. The Product Specialist will be responsible for a range of new product introductions, product optimization, and reporting and insight duties within their designated categories.
Key Job Functions
Task/ Responsibilities:
Reporting & analysis

  • NPI weekly reporting.
  • Building reports and analyse weekly sales.
  • Support Product Manager with monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc reporting.
  • Build basic reports using Looker and Excel (pivot tables).


New product introductions

  • Ownership of new product development and launches with guidance from the product manager.
  • Product development with manufacturing, including sourcing and costing.
  • Determine product positioning and pricing.
  • Briefing product operations, merchandising, creative teams.
  • Seek stakeholder alignment and management approval of new product launches.
  • Support the product manager in larger, more complex new product launches.


Product optimization

  • Use a variety of quantitative and qualitative data to identify areas of product improvement.
  • Collaborate with relevant teams (e.g. GTM, merchandising, customer care, creativity, engineering, quality) to identify and implement solutions.
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of optimisation projects.


First point of contact

  • Answer queries from customer care for product information.
  • Take on board customer feedback, including product issues.
  • Support merchandising teams with product information and guidance.
  • Guide product operations in product setup and optimisation queries.
  • Guide pricing operations in discount setup queries.
  • Develop a detailed understanding of product features and setup, to enable the above.
  • Delegate issues to other teams where appropriate.
  • Escalate issues to Product Manager where appropriate.
  • Market & competitor monitoring
  • Regularly monitor competitor activity, including new product launches, range adjustments, pricing and promotions.
  • Support the Product Manager with competitor insight for strategic planning and projects.
  • Include competitor reviews in new product and product optimisation projects


Development

  • Over time, develop a detailed understanding of product specifics, including manufacturing, operations, and financial performance.
  • Progressively take on bigger & more strategic projects.
  • Reports
  • Participate in weekly, fortnightly and monthly meetings and reporting.
  • Building reports and analyzing Category Performance.

Experience /Training

  • Bachelor's degree required; preferred majors: Economics, Analytical.
  • 1-3 years of experience in product data management is highly recommended.
  • Ability to adapt in a face-paced, constantly evolving environment and excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and drive tasks to completion; consistently following through on commitments.
