The Product Manager will oversee the end-to-end development of new products from conceptualization to launch. Success indicators include timeliness of product launches and achievement of financial metrics (VNB, Protection Ratio, etc).
- Lead the development of new product concepts and conduct competitor research.
- Lead the development of Product Specifications for new product containing the proposed product features, parameters and general operational guidelines.
- Prepare the Product Approval Report (PAR) and coordinate with different departments in completing the other PAR sections. Review input from other departments to the PAR and ensure consistency with the product features.
- Provides support in the review of the Business Requirements Specifications (BRS) for new products through coordination with other business units and to ensure their review / sign-off for system development.
- Performs User Acceptance Testing (UAT) support for new product implementation via the creation of test scenarios and cases in the UAT of product features/parameters. Creates test scenarios and cases for the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) on a new product implementation. Work closely with the system developers to ensure closing of all outstanding cases prior to the UAT sign-off.
- Prepare and review the documents for Gate Three Regulatory Filing (proposal, contract provisions, policy data page) ensuring clarity & customer-centric wording and consistency with regulator guidelines.
- Prepare and coordinate with other departments on the completion of the Gate Four Pre-Launch Checklist and monitor the status of Gate Four activities that are for Day Two implementation.
- Conduct a product orientation to Distribution Training team and Corporate Support group and participate in the discussions, orientation to sales leaders and distribution rallies through providing product technical information/details
- Gather input from relevant departments on actual sales target results.
- And information on the resolution of Day Two issues in relation to the preparation of the Gate Five Post Launch Review document.
Knowledge and Skills:
- University graduate (with background in product development/management, marketing, finance or actuarial)
- At least 3 years in a Product Development role, within the Life Insurance Industry
- Secondary industries may include non-life insurance, banking or other financial institutions
- Preferable with experience in both Individual (Variable and Traditional Life) and Group products
- With ALMI, FLMI designation preferred
