Summary Generated by Built In

TPT (Teachers Pay Teachers) is the world’s largest marketplace for innovative educational content created by and for educators, and used by 85% of K-12 teachers in the US. We have big plans for expanding and building up this immensely popular platform, and are looking for a Product Manager to help drive this growth. Consider applying if you are technically-minded, a fast learner, eager to help connect more teachers with TPT, and are interested in creative strategies for optimizing products for search.

You’ll need an open mind and be willing to wear a lot of hats. If you have beliefs about how product management is done, based on experiences at other tech companies, you must be willing to abandon them. We probably don’t do it the way you’re used to. #LI-CC1

We believe that great product managers often come from unexpected places. If this sounds like a role you’d excel at, but you don’t have the typical background, we’re open to being convinced.

This is a full-time position in our Raleigh, NC area office. The work schedule for this role is Monday-Friday in the office with the option to work from home one day per week.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Collaborate with stakeholders in Marketing, Engineering, and Product to deeply understand and optimize our search and discovery efforts
  • Assist with prioritizing and identifying issues and opportunities to help better connect buyers with the resources they are looking for
  • Partner with engineering and digital marketing specialists to develop and maintain best practices across the website
  • Partner with Design to create simple, elegant and organized solutions that boost search engine optimization and discovery
  • Manage, monitor, and execute a strategic plan that aligns with the company’s goals and metrics

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in STEM or related field
  • 3+ years of product management experience
  • Experience working collaboratively with Engineering, Design, and QA
  • Extremely strong analytical skills - able to provide high quality, efficient, creative solutions to complex problems
  • Knowledge of how websites are built and designed, with exposure to HTML and CSS
  • Industry knowledge is a plus: Familiarity or previous work experience with education, ecommerce and/or marketplace systems
  • Adaptability: Thrive in a fast-paced environment, and quickly adapt to changes in the digital ads industry and company priorities
  • Passion for improving education through technology
