At Datadog, we're on a mission to build the best platform in the world for engineers to understand and scale their systems, applications, and teams, and data platforms and teams are a crucial component. We operate at high scale—trillions of data points per day—allowing for seamless collaboration and problem-solving among Dev, Ops, Data, and Security teams globally for tens of thousands of companies. Our engineering culture values pragmatism, honesty, and simplicity to solve hard problems the right way.

Data governance and data quality are essential for our customers’ businesses especially with the rise of data and AI products. Our Data Observability team is looking for a driven product manager excited to dive into the complexity of our customers’ data stack, dive in into a range of problems from data discovery to data access management to data reliability, and transform these problems from the elusive to possible to easy. This PM has the passion, curiosity and drive to discover new problems, identify their value, and ship valuable solutions for customers.

At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships and collaboration it builds and the creativity it brings to the table. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop a deep understanding of data management practices, where data is sourced, how its defined, its intent, and root out problems from access to quality, in a way that makes the lives of data engineers, security teams, developers, and data practitioners easier Continuously refine your understanding of the data stack landscape from data warehouses, data lakes and warehouses (e.g. Snowflake, Databricks) to data pipelines (e.g. Airflow, Spark, Kafka, etc.)

  • Co-define and build the next generation of monitoring and optimization capabilities for data discovery and governance alongside an amazing engineering and design team

  • Collaborate with other product teams in Datadog to maintain and improve all Datadog products, improve the seamless integration across them, and help customers identify incidents root cause and navigate through telemetry faster

  • Partner with marketing and cross functional teams including sales, customer success and support teams, to define Go-To-Market plans and strategy for Data Catalog and Data Observability.

Who You Are:

  • You have 3+ years of experience as a Product Manager (ideally working on an analytics or developer focused SaaS product)

  • You have either worked as a data engineer or practitioner previously or possess a deep interest, understanding and knowledge, or have a curiosity and drive with a track record of learning new technology spaces quickly

  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the willingness to present and defend your ideas to technical stakeholders and executives alike

  • You are customer focused with high quality standards for your products

  • You are passionate to work in a high growth and impact environment to build new products and scaling existing ones

Datadog values people from all walks of life. We know not everyone will meet all the above qualifications on day one. That’s okay. If you’re passionate about technology and want to grow your experience, we encourage you to apply.
