Product Manager 2 – Transaction Subledger

   

The Product Manager 2 is a key member of the Nordstrom Product Management team, responsible for contributing to and executing a strategic capability roadmap within the Enterprise Finance space.  We aim to create, review, and maintain trusted enterprise transactions, streamline audit and accounting processes, and provide reliable foundational data for the entire company.  Enterprise Finance plays a critical role in ensuring the organization’s financial systems, tools, and processes effectively support our complex analytical and operational needs. A key area of focus is to align financial technology solutions with the company’s strategic goals, operational needs, and compliance requirements.  We are a bridge between business and technology. 

The Product Manager 2 will be responsible for partnering with cross-functional teams and contribute to the product vision for transaction modernization and building out a strategic roadmap to bring the vision to life.  To accomplish that goal, the Product Manager will contribute to the product roadmap and prioritize the backlog, lead product discovery, and measure and communicate the value of releases to the business, all while ensuring stakeholder alignment. Success in this position requires developing a roadmap for a highly cross-functional problem-space, and a balance of strategic thinking with tactical execution. We aim to empower the CFO organization to make profitable business decisions by developing a technology-enabled ecosystem that instills trust in our financial data and automates replicable tasks.

   

     

A day in the life...   

  • Contributes to a product vision, articulating the product purpose and ensuring alignment to the organization's strategic vision without support  
  • Articulates the product's value proposition with support
  • Evangelizes vision with their squad and key stakeholders
  • Shapes the approach to deliver to the product vision, connecting to domain vision, and developing a short-term plan to effect success metrics and product value
  • Drives alignment on strategy with the squad and key stakeholders
  • Encourages innovation within the squad, contributing ideas
  • Facilitates and contributes to planning sessions within the squad
  • Evangelizes their product and influences strategic roadmap decisions within their product domain and with key stakeholders
  • Takes on a more active role in coordinating collaborative efforts for product delivery
  • Conducts customer research and shares findings to develop a deep understanding of their product and customer
  • Understands boundaries and role of their products and helps to re-define as needed within the broader context with support
  • Develops collateral to introduce, contextualize, and evangelize their product to the squad and key stakeholders
  • Breaks down roadmaps into releasable features and owns the prioritization and sequencing of those features to best support strategic goals with moderate support
  • Writes complete user stories and acceptance criteria within their product area and influences within their domain
  • Works with engineering and business to optimize between customer value and technical effort/complexity/risk with minimal support
  • Designs a measurement plan for their product and begins to exercise a "test and learn" mentality, adjusting the product based on learnings
  • Balances people, processes, and systems to experiment and deliver value with support
  • Designs testing, measurement, and telemetry to produce learnings and validate hypotheses
  • Drives progress against deliverables, engaging leadership to manage risks and dependencies as necessary so that outcomes are achieved
  • Determines testing strategy and other acceptance criteria requirements
  • Engages cross-functionally to ensure incidents are appropriately triaged and addressed.  Communicates impacts across the business with support, as needed
  • Integrates repeatable measurement into data-driven decision making, to quickly determine value and drive roadmap adjustments, with leadership support, based on learnings  
  • Prioritizes product roadmap to optimize impact and balance deliverables with multiple stakeholders
  • Prioritizes feature backlog, accounting for complexity, impact, and cohesion with organizational strategy
  • Develops feature timeline and sequencing plan for their product, considering technical and operational constraints and delivery of iterative value with support
  • Partners with engineering leadership for their product to define the scope and deliverables within and across sprints
  • Frames tradeoff decisions about which features or backlog items to deliver for their product
  • Leads or escalates internal discussions with the squad or between squads to resolve disagreements
  • Provides critical facts to gain alignment and clarity without support

   

   

You’ve got this if you have...   

  • 4+ years of Product Management experience     
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience     
  • Ability to partner effectively to define, measure and analyze processes to identify improvement opportunities    
  • Understanding of software development principles, including Agile development, and testing methodologies    
  • Proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle    
  • Proficient in data analysis and performance metrics    
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills    
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presenting to various levels within a matrixed organization    
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills    

   

Preferred:     

  • Data and Systems Architecture Knowledge/Familiarity   
  • Finance and Accounting educational or practical experience

Pay Range Details

The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.

Washington: $103,000 - $188,500 AnnuallyThis position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more. Eligibility requirements may apply based on location, job level, classification, and length of employment.
