Group/Division
The KLA Services team headquartered in Milpitas, CA is our service organization that consists of Service Sales and Marketing, Spares Supply Chain management, Field Operations, Engineering, Product Training, and Technical Support. The KLA Services organization partners with our field teams and customers in all business sectors to maintain the high performance and productivity of our products through a flexible portfolio of services. Our comprehensive services include: proactive management of tools to identify and improve performance; expertise in optics, image processing and motion control with worldwide service engineers, 24/7 technical support teams and knowledge management systems; and an extensive parts network to ensure worldwide availability of parts.
Job Description/Preferred Qualifications
As a member of the KLA Services Engineering team, the candidate will be the engineering tool owner and will coordinate tool operating and maintenance activities across multi-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with the KLA global tool user community to ensure local tools are available for engineers worldwide during their work shifts.
- Complete critical tool performance calibration, specification validation, and periodic preventative maintenance.
- Monitor local and remote tool performance, and assist resolving tool issues.
- In the event of challenging tool problems, perform detailed investigation into the root cause of the tool failure through a structured problem-solving process.
- During critical activities, evening and weekend on-call support may be needed.
- Author clear and concise summaries of test results to share lessons learned with the technical community, and drive updates to service procedures on both development versions and released versions of tool products.
- Troubleshoot and maintain eBeam tools to maintain both tool performance and uptime at high levels.
- Work in an ISO Class 5 cleanroom.
- Travel up to 25% of the time. Travel may be higher during initial training.
- This role requires 5 days a week onsite presence.
Minimum Qualifications
- Degree in Physics, Optics, Electrical, or Mechanical engineering
- Inquisitive investigative skills for finding and solving system-level problems
- Design of Experiments (DOE) expertise
- Enthusiasm and curiosity to learn.
- A solid understanding of precision instruments.
- 5+ years' experience working in a cleanroom
- Semiconductor Capital Equipment OEM experience preferable
- 5+ years of hands-on experience operating and servicing vacuum systems is a strong advantage
- Strong interpersonal presentation skills and technical writing skills
