Summary: The Product Development Engineer role combines the strategic vision of product management with the creative innovation of product development. The individual will contribute to product ideation, design, and refinement, while also reviewing customer feedback and complaints to identify opportunities for product improvement. Collaborating closely with Sales, Quality, Operations, and Product Management teams, this role ensures that product enhancements align with customer needs, quality standards, operational efficiency, and market demands. By bridging these functions, the position drives the creation of innovative, customer-focused solutions while supporting the continuous improvement and success of the CCG product portfolio.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to conceptualize and design new products or enhance existing ones
  • Reviews customer complaints and suggestions relative to assigned product(s).
  • Translating customer insights into actionable recommendations for product features or design updates.
  • Conduct hands-on mechanical testing of new products to ensure they meet quality, safety, and performance standards, documenting results and suggesting refinements as needed.
  • Assist in creating product roadmaps and ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Participates in planning of sales promotions or other special events, such as conferences, tradeshows, or user meetings.
  • Maintains active engagement with sales, customers, suppliers and consultants to support the success of the product portfolio.
  • Maintain complete documentation for all product-related activities.
  • Perform other product development-related duties as assigned.

Desired Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • Minimum 1- 3 years’ experience with principles of fluid flow and bioprocessing applications
  • Must be a creative, resourceful and organized engineering design professional
  • Physical Demands: Able to lift to 50 lbs
  • May be required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms

Desired Skills & Knowledge:

  • Proven ability to collect and analyze market and product data. Ability to present data and information to cross functional areas of company to support recommendations for product lines, pricing, marketing strategy, etc.
  • Strong analytical skills: Expert level in Microsoft Excel & Powerpoint.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers.
  • Ability to effectively problem-solve.
  • Ability to facilitate activities necessary to a project's completion.
  • Requires advanced knowledge of professional field and industry. Influences the development of and drives the application of principles, theories, concepts. Determines best course of action.
  • Judgement is required in resolving complex problems based on experience.
  • Interacts with internal and/or external clients and customers to negotiate and interpret information on projects and unit operations. May consult with senior management.

Work Environment:

  • Work is normally performed in a climate-controlled office environment and throughout a heated manufacturing and warehouse facility
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate
