The Role:

Cometeer is expanding its multi-disciplinary product function, which owns the customer experience across all our internal and external applications, likewise our digital and physical experiences. Design and customer-centric thinking are core pieces for our success as an end-to-end product.

We are looking for a Product Designer to join our Product team. This person will build, launch, and elevate everything from new interfaces, native applications, full-funnel campaigns, to helping thread our experience needle across both our digital and physical products. 

This role reports to the VP of Product + Design. It is a high-exposure role, on a lean team, with the opportunity to have maximum customer impact.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop and iterate user experiences across growth, retention, and physical experience (touching everything from website, to native apps, physical collateral, or campaigns).
  • Work alongside VP of Product, Head of Engineering, Head of Marketing, 4-6 engineers to prioritize scope, raise bar of customer experience, and deliver right-fit design solutions for customer problems.
  • Play an active design/product role in solutioning, greenfield design, and inter-sprint iterations for customer needs + opportunities.
  • Sometimes work on very broadly defined, loose concepts, and sometimes on narrowly defined, tactical features.
  • Work in an egoless agile environment, running rapid experiments while maintaining a high bar for quality craft.
  • Collect feedback through both research and experimentation to refine and evolve your designs, and gaps in customer experience.
  • Consider all parts when crafting end-customer experience: from copy to animation to business and brand impact.

What we’re looking for:

  • 3-5 years experience as a designer on a consumer application
  • Experience working at a high-paced tech start-up 
  • A desire to strive for excellence in your work until all details are attended to
  • A portfolio with mobile app or web design samples that can highlight customer + business impact (or trade-offs)
  • The ability to explain your work, process, and design approach decisions
  • The ability to articulate key pieces of feedback that have help you produce your best work, and grow as team contributor
  • Experience participating in or leading user research sessions
  • Extra Credit: Past lives, or past-times, exploring illustration, graphic design, or even front end development.
