Role:
The Product Data Categorization Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate mapping and categorization of large volumes of semi-structured product data from grocery and pharmacy stores into a pre-defined category hierarchy. This role requires a keen eye for detail, advanced data manipulation skills, and a proactive approach to improving data quality.
Responsibilities:
- Data Analysis & Organization: Review, analyze, and categorize product item data, ensuring accurate mapping to the correct categories within a predefined hierarchy.
- Data Validation: Use advanced Excel functions (e.g., lookups, filtering, pivot tables) to validate, correct, and refine data to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Quality Assurance: Maintain high standards for data mapping, identifying discrepancies and errors while working to correct them independently.
- Collaboration & Process Improvement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve data ambiguities, improve data categorization processes, and ensure that mappings align with organizational goals.
- Reporting: Provide regular updates and reports on progress, challenges, and improvements to leadership.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business or data related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience working with large-scale data sets, particularly within the healthcare or retail industry.
- Demonstrated ability to review and analyze large data sets with accuracy, focusing on even the smallest details to ensure correctness.
- Proficient with Excel, including but not limited to, pivot tables, lookups, filtering, and other data manipulation functions.
- Manage time effectively, take initiative in resolving challenges, and work independently with little oversight.
