Product Configuration Specialist-Remote Ohio-Indiana-Kansas-Missouri

Job Summary:

As a Product Configuration Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and efficient configuration of Allegion’s product. You will support business requirements coordination and maintenance of Experlogix product configuration process. Your role will involve working closely with various teams, including sales, Order management, product management, engineering, and customer support and IT, to ensure that products are configured according to business specifications and requirements.

What You Will Do:

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the Allegion’s product offerings and their configurations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information on product specifications, features, and options.

  • Research, prepare, and configure product, pricing, and relational rules using Experlogix configuration software.

  • Maintain the accuracy and alignment of product, pricing, and relational rules across Allegion’s suite of business solutions and systems.

  • Create and maintain accurate and up-to-date product configuration databases and documentation.

  • Ensure that all product configurations adhere to quality standards and compliance regulations.

  • Identify opportunities for streamlining and improving the product configuration process.

  • Implement best practices and standardization methods to enhance efficiency and reduce errors.

  • Conduct thorough reviews and validation of product configurations to ensure accuracy and alignment with customer expectations.

  • Collaborate with quality control teams to address any issues that may arise. Perform quality assurance testing and proofing of Experlogix data in interacting applications.

  • Provide support to the customer service and technical support teams by offering insights into product configurations, troubleshooting problems, and assisting with customer inquiries related to configuration options.

  • Conduct training sessions and workshops for internal teams, ensuring they are well-versed in the product configuration process and capable of understanding customer requirements.

What You Need to Succeed:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Information technology (IT), or a related field is typically required. Prior experience in product configuration, product management, or a related role is advantageous.

  • 5 years of working experience or experience in an IT or product configurations related role preferred.

  • Strong technical background and understanding of the company's products and services are essential to effectively configure and customize offerings.

  • Demonstrated technical experience with multiple complex systems, i.e., CRM, PLM, ERP

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently on a virtual team.

  • The role requires meticulous attention to detail to ensure accurate product configurations and avoid potential errors.

  • Ability to analyze complex requirements and translate them into appropriate product configurations.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with different teams and effectively convey technical information.

  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to handle unexpected challenges in the configuration process.

  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple product configurations and meet deadlines.

  • Capable of working collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
