Age of Learning is seeking a Producer to manage a multi-discipline internal development teamfor a digital, mastery-based, Spanish language and biliteracy program. The ideal candidate has Agile project management experience within web & mobile entertainment, education, or games.
Our environment is fast-paced, so flexibility is a must. The position requires successfully interfacing with a variety of internal and external design, creative, engineering and QA personnel, adjusting to production and team challenges that arise, and finding creative solutions that keep projects on track with a firm, but friendly “can-do” attitude.
Job Description:
The Producer plays a multifaceted role, combining elements of project management, content development, and technological innovation. The Producer is responsible for driving the completion of project goals as a partner to development leads. This role will be based in Guadalajara Jalisco.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate/run team ceremonies (standups, planning, reviews, retrospectives, grooming, etc.)
- Inspire others to adopt new processes and improvements based on team retrospectives and company culture
- Prepare and present project statuses, target dates and/or scope definition
- Conduct date/scope trade-offs analysis and discussion with stakeholders
- Track and prepare team performance and workflow in terms of throughput and bottlenecks with burndown charts and value streams
- Proactive role in the improvement of the process within the development team
- Proactively identify and manage internal and external dependencies efficiently
- Serve as an Agile coach and mentor within the team
- Help the team convert business requirements & product ideas into executable user stories
- Ensure the team members have access to the tools needed to see the work and to complete the work
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional experience in a production role in an Agile software development environment specific to web & mobile entertainment
- Experience playing the role of Producer for at least 1 year for a software development team that was diligently applying Agile principles
- Knowledge and/or experience with Agile techniques such as User Stories, Test-Driven Development, Continuous Integration, Pair Programming and Automated Testing
- Experience managing and motivating a cross-functional team of web & mobile developers, artists, and QA professionals
- A proven track record of shipping web & mobile software products
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and mentoring skills
- Knowledge of software production tools like Jira/Confluence, Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint
- A clear understanding of game project life cycles from start to finish
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge and/or experience with other Agile frameworks
- Agile or PMP Certification is a plus
- Fluent in both English and Spanish
- 5+ yearsof software project management experience
- Demonstrated experience in mobile and web software development
- Passion for Edtech
